Biome Project: Each student will choose one of the following Biomes: 1. Tropical Rain forest 2. Tropical Dry Forest 3. Tropical Savanna, Grasslands 4. Desert 5. Temperate Grassland (Prairies) 6. Temperate woodland and shrub land (Chaparral) 7. Temperate Forest 8. Northwest Coniferous Forest 9. Boreal Forest (Taiga) 10.Tundra 11.a. Marine Biome: Coral reefs 11b. Marine Biome: Oceans 12.a. Freshwater Biome: Wetlands 12b. Freshwater Biome: Ponds and Lakes 12c. Freshwater Biome: Streams and Rivers Subjects researched and covered for each biome will include: 1. The animal life found in the biome focusing on the prevalent species and how they adapt to the environment 2. The plant life found in the biome and any special adaptations the plants have made to surviving in the environment 3. The Geographic distribution 4. The abiotic factors of the biome: a. Temperature b. Humidity c. Light availability d. Rainfall e. Soil composition Information may be presented in a power point/ keynote presentation or in a booklet. Time for presenting information to class will be 5 minutes. Practice the presentation multiple times so that you may give a concise presentation and finish within the 5-minute time limit.
