It has, once again, been a huge event and thank you to Mrs Gow and all the staff and children volunteers who helped to make it such a success. Many of you may have already heard that Mr Latimer wasn’t in school yesterday as he had a car accident on his way home on Monday evening and bumped his head. We are still waiting to hear more and we all wish him a speedy recovery. In Reception class this week there has been lots of work on the Gruffalo. The children have also been to Brinscall Woods to build dens with their Year 6 buddies – lots of muddy, smiling children (and adults) returned. The sounds of Christmas are starting to appear, as rehearsals for the Nativity play are underway in school. In Year 1 they have been looking at money and finding out about Indian folk stories as well as producing some lovely paintings about God the creator. In year 2 they are starting to learn their words for the Nativity called ‘Angel Express’, while keeping going with all their other activities too. Year 3 are reading Fantastic Mr Fox and have written some super stories, while in Year 4 they have started descriptions about Snoozatron machines linked to Wallace and Grommit – as well as fitting in a visit from the Global Renewables team. Problem solving is on the agenda in Year 5, which has included a ‘messy breakfast’! In Year 6 the children made Mock Crab as part of their history (some faces were a picture!) and have received their Pals certificates and Bikeability badges. Well done to everyone for a busy week of activities. The PTFA meeting is at the Golden Lion tonight from 7pm. Mrs Lormor and I will be attending and hope to see you there, if you can. Thank you for your continued support.
