EQ-The Environmental Quality Company (Michigan Disposal)
On April 28, 2004, the DEQ issued a notice of termination to EQ-The
Environmental Quality Company (Michigan Disposal) (EQ/MD) after EQ/MD met
the requirements of WHMD Fast Track Order No. 111-01-04.
On March 9, 2004, the DEQ entered into an administrative consent order
(Consent Order) with EQ/MD to resolve violations of Part 111, Hazardous Waste
Management, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994
PA 451, as amended. EQ/MD is located at 49350 North I-94 Service Drive,
Belleville, Michigan. During a record review conducted on April 17, 2003, EQ/MD
was cited for violations of their waste analysis, PCB handling, and land disposal
requirements. The Consent Order required EQ/MD to maintain compliance with
the regulations and pay a civil fine of $42,000.
