This letter and the information enclosed is our way of introducing to you that a new
landfill just 1 mile north of Abilene TX on FM 3034 has been approved and permitted by
the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality.
Abilene Environmental Landfill Inc. is owned and operated by Abilene businessmen, and
we welcome your business and look forward to serving your waste disposal needs in a
manner you appreciate.
Abilene Environmental Landfill is staffed with highly trained personnel that has combined
solid waste industry experience of over 57 years. Mr. Roy Knowles is our General
Manager and maintains a Class A MSW license.
Abilene Environmental Landfill is permitted to provide disposal of, Municipal solid waste,
Construction & Demolition waste, Non-hazardous Industrial Class 1 & 2 & 3, Rail Road
Commission waste. We also have liquid solidification and disposal services. We also
can provide transportation services for bulk solid or liquid waste needs.
Abilene Environmental Landfill is situated in a location where there is no ground water.
The facility is constructed with a 3 foot of clay liner that exceeds 10 –7 permeability and a
60 mil. HDPE Geosynthetic Liner over layed with a leachate collection system.
It will be monitored by 15 monitor wells that ring the site and are tested semi-annually.
