TERM 3, 2014 CSIRO releases ScienceImage archive into public domain The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) has released its ScienceImage library under a Creative Commons Attribution license. CSIRO has provided permission for anyone to freely use, repost and transform the collection’s 4000+ high definition images and videos. The library represents more than six decades worth of environmental, industrial, agricultural and technological research images. CSIRO’s library is separated into a variety of categories including Animals, Buildings, Soil Science, Technology and Water. Many of the recently released videos and images are accompanied by details about the research project involved, or the specimen photographed. WHAT’S NEW AT THE UQL CYBERSCHOOL Makerspace Kits (Brisbane Catholic Education only) For those in Brisbane Catholic Education, borrow these pre-made kits as a ‘try before you buy’. ResourceLink have created kits of resources and equipment that can be used to run a Maker Faire. They can be borrowed by schools who wish to investigate using this style of hands on learning. The kits can only be lent out to Brisbane Catholic Education and Catholic Religious Institute Schools within the Brisbane Archdiocese.
