Coeus 4.2.4 Release Notes (March 2008) Coeus 4.2.4 includes enhancements and bug fixes that are in direct response to your requests and your bug reports; please continue to contact us with bugs you encounter as well as enhancement requests so that we can continue to make Coeus better for everyone. This update includes the following enhancements and bug fixes: Grants.gov: Narrative types synced to Grants.gov forms The narrative type drop down list in Premium and Lite is now filtered based on the Grants.gov opportunity selected in the proposal. If no opportunity is selected, a default list of narrative types will be displayed. If the proposal is a child in the hierarchy, the list of narrative types will be filtered based on the opportunity selected in that child and its parent. New “Save” button available in Grants.gov screen A new Save button was added to the Grants.gov screen which allows you to save form selections and submission types. Competition ID duplicated when searching Grants.gov Bug Fixed: When one funding opportunity contained more than one competition ID, CoeusLite would display the same competition ID for all available opportunities for a given program number. NIH Commons ID Bug Fixed: CoeusLite was not allowing users to input/display the NIH Commons user ID. Proposal Hierarchy: Coeus Premium 4.2.0 included a new feature to allow proposals to be linked together into a proposal hierarchy. The following enhancements and bug fixes to proposal hierarchy are included in release 4.2.4. Parent proposal budget can be marked complete only after all children are marked complete. Once a parent proposal budget is marked complete, new proposals cannot be linked to the hierarchy. Once a parent proposal is marked complete, child proposals cannot be removed from the hierarchy. Percent effort and faculty flag are now editable on the investigator tab in the parent proposal. Users can now set parent budget as modular. New rules implemented for Syncing and editing person information and narratives o If a person is present only in one child proposal, that person’s information (details, bio and degree) should be edited in the child and cannot be edited in the parent. Any change made at the child will be brought forward to the parent during next sync operation. _____________________________________________________________________________ Office of Sponsored Programs Page 1 Coeus 4.2.4 Release Notes (March 2008) o o o If a person is present in multiple children, all details and attachments should be edited at the parent. This person will be display only at the child proposal. If a narrative type exists only in one proposal, that narrative information should be edited, including the attachment, at the child proposal. When a narrative is added to a child, application check if the narrative type can be multiple in a proposal, if yes (e.g. Other) the narrative will be synced to the parent. If the type cannot be multiple, user will be warned that the narrative will not be brought forward to the parent. Child statuses are updated if the parent proposal is rejected allowing the child proposal to become editable. A warning message is displayed while attempting to link a child proposal to a hierarchy that includes start and end dates that fall outside of the range of the parent. Bug Fixed: The icon that indicates a proposal is part of a hierarchy was not always displayed on all pages in CoeusLite. Bug Fixed: Users were unable to edit the title of the child proposal immediately after joining a child to a hierarchy. . Additionally, aggregators under some situations were unable to modify an existing narrative while the proposal was being routed. Budget screen saving The budget screens were prompting the user to save data when no changes had been made to the budget. Additionally, some error messages were being improperly displayed when saving the budget in CoeusLite. Budget summary forms Some budget summary forms were printing “NaN” for lines over $99,999,999.99 Copy proposal The role/authorization to “Modify all Dev Proposals” did not allow users to copy all parts of a proposal within a department. Copy proposal to lab allocated departments When copying a proposal from one lab allocated department to a different allocated department, the receiving department’s lab allocation rates were not being updated in the proposal. Duplicate budget line items not updated correctly on “apply to later periods” CoeusLite was updating the first entry in the budget if there were more than one row with the exact same description when applying the change to later periods in the budget.
