Dear Parents HOUSE RECYCLING COMPETITION As part of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Day on Friday 20 th June, the PTFA, Green Team and House Captains are working together on a House Recycling Competition. For the competition, parents are being invited to collect and bring into school ‘rag bag’ clothing. The house with the highest recorded weight of clothing bags, at the end of the morning, will win the competition. You will find two collection bags in your child’s bookbag tonight. If you would like to take part, simply fill the bags with as much clothing as possible (part filled bags are fine!) and drop them into the studio at school on the morning of Friday 20 June. The studio will be clearly divided into four ‘house’ areas. House Captains, the Green Team and the PTFA will be on hand to help with the collection and weighing, and ensure your clothing bags find their way to the correct house. The PTFA will be kindly donating the money raised from the ‘rag bag’ collection to the Green Team, for on-going curriculum projects. Look out for more information on how the money has been spent, in future newsletters and on the website. Please remember that Rag Bags can only hold clothing, shoes (tied together), bags, belts, ties and household linen and towels. They cannot include duvets, pillows, cushions, carpets, rugs, uniforms (excluding school uniform), textiles, yarns, threads or anything that is soiled or wet. We very much hope you will able to support this competition and we look forward to announcing the winner, and how much money has been raised, in July. Yours sincerely Mrs Nicky Wayling & the children from The Green Team
