Please read the following, then complete the Training Course Application form and return via email
to the appropriate address at the bottom of the page. It you have any concerns, or feel you may
require additional support needs, please contact the Learning and Development team at National
Office
By applying to attend one of Together’s courses participants agree to the following:
1. Line Management Approval
Access to the Learning and Development Programme is available to staff and service users, subject to
any eligibility criteria detailed in the programme.
In all cases, authorisation must be sort from line manager (for staff) or project manager (for service
users) Further guidance is available from the Learning and Development team.
2. Course Participation
Applicants are aware that they are expected to participate fully in the course. This may include roleplays, one-to-one, and group discussions. However we recognise that for a variety of reasons this may
not always be possible for some people for a variety of reasons. Applicants can contact the Learning &
Development Co-ordinator if they wish to make the trainer aware of anything which may inhibit their
participation e.g. sensory disability, difficulties with written English etc. The message will be kept
confidential and only passed onto the trainer concerned.
3. Conduct of Participants during the course
Participants should be aware that it is not the sole responsibility of the trainer to challenge behaviour of
other course members. Behaviour on training courses will at all times be within the principles established
in Together’s Code of Conduct
Participants also need to be aware that trainers are not employed to solve specific problems within a
project and that grievances should be pursued through appropriate channels such as supervision.
However, trainers can help participants to devise a strategy to help them e.g. through supervision, team
meetings and line management.
4. Punctuality
Each participant has a responsibility to arrive on time for all training courses. Unless notified of other
arrangements, all participants are expected to arrive between 09:30 and 09:50 for a prompt 10:00 start.
Participants who arrive more than twenty-five minutes late for a course will be refused entry, unless they
have notified Learning & Development prior to the commencement of the course. In all cases,
explanations for late arrival will be reported to line management.
Lateness during the day can disrupt the training experience for all participants. Expulsion of a participant
from the course due to poor time keeping is at the discretion of the trainer.
5. Confidentiality
Participants should refrain from naming colleagues and users from their project when sharing
experiences with other participants e.g. ‘a colleague/service user or ‘a member of staff /a resident’ could
be used in place of names.
Before sharing sensitive information each participant has the personal responsibility to choose how
much they reveal and/or listen to. This applies both during the course and in the coffee and lunch
breaks.
Confirmation will be sent two weeks prior to the course vie email
Cancellation Policy
We require a minimum of 5 working days notice (not including weekends) if delegates are unable
to attend so that we may offer the place to other staff.
Cancelation within 5 working days must be confirmed via email, and will be recorded by project
or department for our records.
