Snyder Dr. Snyder has been working at HERVS since 1989 and became the medical director of our facility in 1998. Since 2005, Dr. Snyder has been President of the Hartford Veterinary Medical Association. A 1987 graduate of the University of Missouri’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Snyder enjoys gardening, deep-sea fishing and sampling fine cuisine in her spare time. • Dr. Lisa Baker Dr. Baker was a veterinary technician at HERVS while she pursued her undergraduate education at Salisbury State University. She graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and returned to HERVS to practice as a vet in 2007. She owns three dachshunds and volunteers at local rabies vaccine clinics. In her spare time, Dr. Baker enjoys drawing, painting and ballet. • Dr. Martha Tubman A 2004 graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Tubman completed an internship at the Baltimore Zoo before joining the HERVS family in 2008. She and her husband live on a farm where they care for sheep and goats. • Dr. Brandy Watson Dr. Watson has been with HERVS since 2008. She graduated in 2006 from the School of Veterinary Medicine, Louisiana State University, and she volunteers her services on a regular basis at the Baltimore County Humane Society. • Dr. Mark Levine Dr. Levine has been working with HERVS since 2011. He completed his studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Our facility features a complete digital radiology suite, an intensive care unit, a surgical suite and an in-house laboratory. We also maintain a comfortable reception area where you’re free to wait as we treat your pet. In our emergency care, we use much of the same equipment that is used in your hospital’s emergency room to stabilize your critically ill pet. We use intravenous catheters to administer fluids, blood products, and medications, and we administer oxygen therapy services as well. If your pet requires surgery, our surgical suites use advanced monitoring technology as well as anesthetic support to keep your pet safe and comfortable. We perform a comprehensive range of surgical procedures, including: • • • • • • • Cesarean sections Endoscopies for foreign body retrieval Exploratory laparotomies Gastric dilatations for volvulus or bloating Gastrointestinal surgeries for foreign body removal Hernia repairs Laceration and wound repairs Once your pet is stabilized, we may transfer them to our intensive care suite. Our ICU is fully equipped with sophisticated technology that assists us in performing any necessary tests of your pet’s cardiac status.
