Course Outline
Writing 12 is a rewarding elective! The course is designed to build your creative writing
skills in all the major genres – poetry, playwriting, and fiction. The course moves from
preparing to write, all the way through to getting your work published. You will dabble in
4 genres and then complete 2 deeper assignments you choose. It is recommended that
students complete: English 11.

Performance Standards
Each paper is marked out of 100 points. Specific marking guides are included in each
paper. You must attain 50% on the course to pass the course at the school level. Your
school mark is your final mark.
