Bützberg, Switzerland – 6th of January 2014 PRESS RELEASE Glas Trösch Group A dynamic Swiss company with a long tradition built on glass With more than 100 years of experience, Glas Trösch is the leading company in the production, processing and finishing of glass in Switzerland and Europe. Despite our success, we still consider personal contacts with customers as well as solid regional roots to be very important to how we approach our business. When the glass specialist Johann Friedrich Trösch opened his company in Bützberg in 1905, no one imagined this small enterprise would one day grow into a major glass company with an international presence. Today, Glas Trösch is run by 4th generation family member Erich Trösch – ensuring a passion for glass along with drive to innovate and pure joy in working with this fascinating, precious material. Glas Trösch is the Swiss market leader and ranks among Europe’s leading manufacturers and processors of plate glass. The company has about 5’100 employees at 70 sites in Switzerland, Germany, France, Poland, Ukraine, Moldova, Hungary, Turkey, Czech Republic and USA – all working to create glass solutions that contribute to quality of life. Glass production: Independence by our own float glass plants Flat glass made with the float glass process is the starter material for Glas Trösch products. In addition to supplying their own glass processing operations, the factories supply an extensive international customer network. The four float glass plants in Hombourg (F), Haldensleben (D), Osterweddingen (D), and Ujazd (PL) are operated in partnership with other well-known glass processors and are arguably the most modern glass plants in the world. Glass coating: Comfort all year round The realization of contemporary glass projects calls for an environmentally compatible energy saving concept. Here glass coatings make an important contribution to environmental protection. In 1988, Glas Trösch took its own magnetron coating plant in operation and offered heat insulation glass for the first time under the name SILVERSTAR. Today, the company supplies a wide range of innovative coatings for the most diverse requirements. Exterieur: Glass for structural engineering and architecture Diverse and versatile glass systems can provide a harmonious blend of function and design, encompassing elements such as ample glass windows, elegant glazed facades, porch roofs, railings, staircases, floors, noise barriers, safety glass and fire protection glass. Among architects, designers, facade constructer, metal worker and window manufacturers, the Glas Trösch exterior division is known as a competent and recognised partner. Interieur: Atmosphere for interior spaces Glass solutions help to shape inner worlds with style and character. Glass can provide accents and create a harmonic and transparent mood – in kitchens, baths and living areas, but also in office spaces, public buildings and culinary establishments. The Glas Trösch interior division supports interior designers and decorators with creative concepts and solutions. Seven regional showrooms provide the opportunity to find inspiration based on our innovative design ideas. Automotive: Glass in movement Whether aircraft cockpit, front glazing for rail vehicles, complete glass systems for car prototypes and glass spare parts: Glas Trösch automotive develops, tests and manufactures for extremely demanding applications in the world of transport. Technical glass: Perfection in every detail With the EuropTec-companies in Switzerland, Germany, Turkey and USA and with its anti-reflective glass LUXAR®, Glas Trösch becomes a leader in processing technical glass for the display-, automotive- and medical technology industry.
