PRODUCTION STAFF
Please provide as complete a list as possible of your production
team for the show. We know that it is difficult to fill all these
positions so far in advance, but it is important to “staff up.”
A good production starts with a good staff.
Please number the slots above by order of preference, “1” being
most preferred, “5” being least preferred. If you would be
unavailable to direct the show during a particular slot, put an “X” in
the corresponding box.

By submitting this written proposal, you are agreeing to the guidelines set out in the director’s covenant. Additionally, you will be expected to meet with
members of the T&G board to discuss the proposal before a decision is made. You are welcome to submit multiple proposals for multiple shows; however,
each proposal must be made separately in order to be considered. Also, be aware that more than one director may submit to direct a show, and a
decision will be made by the board based on a number of factors. If your proposal is not selected, please do not take it as a comment on you personally or
let your rejection prevent you from submitting for other shows. We appreciate you interest!

TOWN & GOWN PLAYERS’ MAIN STAGE SUBMISSION
PRODUCTION BLURB
PRODUCTION BUDGET
In thirty-five words or less, describe the show and your
production of it in such a way that people would want to come
see it--this should be able to serve as an advertising blurb
on the T&G website or on the season brochure
Main Stage productions are allocated a standard budget of $2,150.
This amount includes all onstage expenses, the opening night
reception, and a $100 honorarium paid to the director after a
production successfully closes. Scripts, royalties, poster, and
program costs do not come out of the show budget. Musicals receive
an additional $700 for band/musician expenses, for a total budget of
$2,850. Should a production need additional funding, a formal
request must be made to the Town & Gown Players’ Board before
expenses are incurred. No expenses above the allocated budget will
be reimbursed without prior board approval. All show expenses
(excepting the director’s honorarium) must be documented for
accounting and reimbursement purposes.
DIRECTOR’S VISION
Explain why you would like to direct this specific show and how
you envision its production. Share your distinct and
interesting take on the show. While you don’t need to list
every single detail of staging and design, please be as specific
as you can in your proposal regarding what you and your
production staff have planned for this show and what you
hope the production will accomplish. Feel free to continue this
on a separate page or to include attachments with this
proposal.

including royalties, script costs, honorarium, and any purchases
made towards the cancelled show.
