Xi’an Jiaotong University
Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) grew out of Nanyang College which was founded in Shanghai in 1896. Its
main body was moved to Xi’an in 1956 and was renamed Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1959. At present, 36, 000
students, are studying at its 19 schools among whom over 1,070 are international students from more than 40
countries. 1,600 professors and associate professors out of 2,537 faculty members are committed to bringing
students into the research arena. Your experience is by no means limited to the XJTU. Rich in culture and history,
Xi’an, the largest city in Northwest China served as the capital for 13 dynasties in Ancient China. Its Terracotta
Warriors of the Qin Dynasty, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site was recognized as the Eighth Wonder of
