ORGANISATIONAL OVERVIEW
Cockburn Basketball Association (CBA) is a not for profit organisation, focused on growing the sport of basketball in
the Cockburn - Fremantle region. With a strong club base the association conducts regular fixtures for juniors &
seniors, development programs for varying ages and skill levels, and a representative program for both juniors &
seniors. CBA is governed by a Board of Directors.

PURPOSE
The Competitions Manager is responsible for the coordination and delivery of all the Domestic Junior Basketball
Competitions for Cockburn Basketball Association. The role also involves providing support to Senior Competitions,
WABL Program, and Introductory Programs to ensure pathways are in place for junior participants.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Tasks involved in the delivery of the junior competitions include:
 Adhering to CBA policies, CBA budgets, and CBA by-laws
 Allocation & coordination of support staff and referees
 Distribute and collect game & training balls (and alternate singlets if required)
 Set up scoring equipment and input game results
 Monitor referee, coach, and spectator codes of conduct
 Developing and distributing promotional material for the competitions
 Maintaining database of participants registered for each competition
 Provide written reports to the Association at the completion of each competition
 Other tasks as required by Operations Manager or CBA Board

Project plans developed, maintained and reports generated as requested
Internal operations are efficient and effective with all necessary policies in place
Member surveys/feedback utilized in program analysis and improvement

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
 A strong interest in sport
 Hold a working with children check
 Have a current driver’s license and motor vehicle available for work purposes
 Have a sound knowledge of basketball rules and regulations
 The ability to carry out duties with limited supervision and co-operatively participate as
a team member when required
 Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently and to use initiative and
problem-solving skills in order to organise & prioritise workloads
 Demonstrate high level of interpersonal, communication, negotiation and
conflict resolution skills
 Demonstrated ability to use discretion with confidential and sensitive information
 Willingness to work outside normal business hours (this role involves evening and
weekend work to meet the needs of the Association)
 Experience with Fox Sports Pulse and Stadium Scoring
 Proven skills and knowledge in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Publisher,
Outlook, PowerPoint), and ability to update CBA website & social media
 A high standard of personal appearance and conduct (clean, neat, tidy, punctual)
 Respectful language and manner toward visitors, patrons & others
Desirable
 Demonstrated experience in a similar role (paid or voluntary)
 Relevant tertiary qualification
 Accredited coach
 Accredited referee
