Saint Anne’s Cord
Saint Anne’s Cord is made of white tape. On one end are five knots and a medal of Saint
Anne.
Signification: This cord, in honour of the maternity of Good Saint Anne, will be for the
Christian mother both a protection and a symbol. Great precautions should be taken not to
expose the health, the good qualities and the external salvation of her child during
pregnancy. Honoured in her most glorious privilege, Good Saint Anne will not fail to
intercede on behalf of a mother invoking her confidence.
Thousands of children owe to the glorious Mother of Mary, the life of the body, the grace of
holy baptism.
This Cord is a Symbol: Girdling the loins, it is signified by its whiteness purity of body and
soul. The five knots in honour of Jesus, Mary, Joseph, Joachim and Anne, symbolize
penance, meekness, humility, patience, confidence in God, all virtues necessary to her who
wishes that her virtues may be infused from one heart into her child’s soul.
Practice of Devotion: In imitation of your Holy Patroness, spend the time of your pregnancy
in prayer, the fulfilment of your duties and the practice of all virtues – with that intention.

Receive frequently the Sacraments.
Make a Novena on the nine consecutive Tuesdays in honour of Good Saint Anne.
Say often the following short prayer: Good Saint Anne pray for us and Jesus Mary
and Anne.
