Guidance for Endocrinology advanced training applications. Background Advanced training in Endocrinology is a 3 year programme as described in the RACP training handbook. In the Auckland region, there are a number of runs that are suitable for advancing Endocrinology training: the major runs are those in Endocrinology at Greenlane Clinical Centre, Diabetes at Greenlane Clinical Centre, Endocrinology/Diabetes at North Shore Hospital, and Endocrinology/Diabetes at Middlemore Hospital. Anyone wishing to train in Endocrinology in the Auckland region is required to apply as described below. There are usually more applicants than places available. All applications are reviewed by members of the Auckland Regional Committee for Endocrine Training (ARCET). The highest ranking candidates based upon the applications received will be invited to an interview. While priority for Endocrinology and Diabetes runs in Auckland is given to advanced trainees in Endocrinology, requests for runs by advanced trainees in other specialities are welcome.
