Directions to Venue
The venue is the Cobbes Meadow RDA Centre, St. Augustine`s Hospital, Chartham. (OS map 179, grid ref
TR122539).
From Canterbury, leave the ringroad on the A28 to Ashford. At the Milton Manor roundabout, take the first exit, signed Chartham
Downs / Thruxted Mill. On reaching Chartham, turn left at the mini roundabout into Beech Avenue. Then see below at *.
From Ashford, take the A28 to Canterbury. Continue past Chilham, and turn right to Shalmsford Street. Go up the hill & through
the village. Where the road bends sharp right, turn left (signposted Thanington) into The Crescent. At mini roundabout cross into
Beech Ave. Then see below at *.
From the B2068, follow the signposts to Chartham across Chartham Downs. Go past Stanley House. Pass houses on right, then at
cross roads take right turn into Cockering Road. At roundabout cross into Beech Ave.
Then see below at *.
*From Beech Ave., continue straight on, through chicanes & past clock tower. Turn right into Updown Way & follow through
houses, eventually turning left into Candlers Way. Go through gates to RDA Centre.

Number Bibs
A £5 returnable deposit or EGB membership card will be required when collecting bibs, and bibs must be
returned to the Secretary when collecting rosettes. A donation to the RDA (perhaps £1?) would also be
much appreciated, as a way of showing our thanks for the use of their facilities. Thank you.
Log Books, Horse Registration Cards & Membership Cards
Logbooks, membership cards & horse registration cards, must presented to the Secretary before starting.
Mastercards should be presented in their plastic wallets with the first four columns completed, & with any
immediately previous Mastercard. Horse passports must be available if required.
Farrier
All horses must be seen by the farrier prior to vetting. Be aware that he is not there to re-shoe on the day,
and any remedial work must be paid for immediately.
Vet Sheets & Vetting
Vet sheets must be filled in and taken to the veterinary inspections. Horses may be presented in bridles or
headcollars, but must be under control.
Enclosures
Your map and talkround are enclosed. Please read them carefully against a proper OS map, and do not rely
on markers to show the way; marker vandals may be about! Before starting, check the notice board for
possible route changes, and for safety and other important information. Write your number on your crew
card and display it in the windscreen of your crew car, or in that of your vehicle at the venue if no crew.
Hats and Footwear
Riders may only start if wearing hats labelled either PAS 015, ASTM/SEI, BSEN1384, or EN 1384. Chin
straps must be securely fastened at all times when mounted. Hats may be inspected. Footwear must have a
half inch heel, unless caged stirrups are used. Wellington boots are not allowed. Sticks must be less than 76
cms in length. Spurs are not permitted.
Crewing
Crewing with horseboxes is not permitted, and only one crew car per rider is allowed. NO CREWING IS
PERMITTED AT CHECKPOINTS 2, 3, 4, or 5. There are other good crew points (eg the car park near
CP3).
Other information
Footpaths, bridleways, and Byways are all public highways where competitors will meet other users.
Whether on a public highway or not, competitors should meet other users in a safe manner, for example,
making them aware of their presence and slowing to a walking pace while passing if unable to give them a
wide berth. While using any public highway, competitors should comply with the Highway Code at all times.
Competitors should comply with the Countryside Code: Be safe, plan ahead and follow any signs. Leave
gates and property as you find them. Protect plants and animals and take your litter home. Keep dogs under
close control. Consider other people.
*Some of the tracks cross private land, and are only available for riding on the day.
*It is the rider`s responsibility to ensure that the Checkpoint Stewards and Timekeepers record their number.
*All dogs must be kept on a lead.
Do not muck out trailers and boxes at the venue! Take litter home.
Failure to obey instructions from stewards will lead to elimination. (This includes gate stewards.)
After the Finish
Competitors must present to the vet within 30 mins after passing the finish. Penalties will be awarded
thereafter. Unsound horses will be eliminated. Please allow at least 20 mins after vetting before collecting
your rosettes, to allow the paperwork to be processed.
Ride Health and Safety Notice
The Organiser of this event has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone
present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and
prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organiser and all Officials and Stewards.
Rules
This ride is run under Endurance GB Rules. A copy of these will be available in the Secretary` s Office on
the day.
Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible,
neither the Organisers of any event to which these rules apply, nor the Endurance GB, nor any agent, employee or representative
of these bodies accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land or
any other person or property whatsoever whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or any other way whatsoever.
Reservation of Right
The Organiser has the right to: Cancel the ride or any Class; alter the advertised times; refuse any entry.
