Making Data from the HSCIC More Accessible Chris Roebuck, Director of Benefits and Utilisation, HSCIC This interactive session will provide an overview of how the HSCIC currently makes data available and the emerging thinking around the future. Delegates will then have the opportunity to have their say about what their requirements are. Using group work, we will explore the information needs of different groups and how these needs can best be met. 2. Data and Linkage Services for Commissioners Martin Dennys, Director of Data Services for Commissioners, HSCIC and Ming Tang, Director for Data and Information Management Systems, NHS England The commissioning of care in England requires a complex understanding and analysis of data concerning the care provided to whole populations. There are many specialisms and there is a need to commission individual and population care requirements now, and to plan for the future. The Health and Social Care Act 2012 has radically changed the flow of data for commissioning purposes. This session will provide insight on the current structure of the Data Service for Commissioners and possible structures for the future. 3. Introduction to the Data Linkage and Extract Service Dave Cronin, Business Change Lead, HSCIC. This session will outline the different products available from the HSCIC’s Data Linkage and Extract Service and the related approvals and applications processes.
