Directions
From the north leave the A1 exit sign posted Catterick Garrison, Brompton on
Swale, Scorton. This brings you onto the A6136, proceed until you reach traffic
lights. Turn left onto the B6271 to Scorton Village. The show will be signposted.
From the south leave the A1 signposted Richmond and Catterick. Take the A6136
turning 1st right back over the motorway then 1st left to Catterick Village. Continue
on with the racecourse on your left until you reach a set of traffic lights, turn right
then continue to Scorton Village as above.
QUALIFYING CLASSES
BRITISH SHOW PONY SOCIETY
Classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 26, 32, 33, 34,36, 39- 42, 65, 66, 7476, 88-89 are qualifying Classes for the Royal International Horse Show. Only
one pony from each class qualifies, and the highest placed (not already qualified),
from the first 3 ponies in each class will qualify. All ponies in these classes must
be owned, registered and ridden by B.S.P.S. Members, and animals must be
registered with the A.H.S. to compete in classes 88 and 89.
This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Championships Show.
THE BSPSCLASSIC SECURITY CHALLENGE 2015
LR, FR, Open Show Ponies, Nursery Stakes, Open W.H.P.s, Open S.H.P.s,
Open Intermediates, Open Heritage LR, FR, Ridden, W.H.P.
The highest placed pony that has not qualified for the 2015 H.O.Y.S., in the
appropriate class, will qualify. If the highest placed pony has already qualified for
the “B.S.P.S. Challenge” the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible
pony. If after qualifying a pony qualifies for the H.O.Y.S., it will forfeit it's
qualification for the "B.S.P.S. Challenge".
Cradle Stakes & Lead Rein of Hunter Type - The highest placed pony that has
not qualified for the “B.S.P.S. Challenge” will qualify, if the highest placed pony
has already qualified the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony.
B.S.P.S. “BLACK COUNTRY SADDLES” RIDER OF THE YEAR
The Best Rider in each of the following Open Classes will be awarded a Best Rider
Card and qualify for the final at the Summer Championships Show:- Lead Rein,
First Ridden, Lead Rein of Hunter Type, 128, 138 & 148 Show Pony, 122, 133,
143, 153 S.H.P., Cradle Stakes, Nursery Stakes, 133, 143, 153 W.H.P.,
Intermediate SRT, WH & SH, Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden and to the
best rider 25yrs and under in the Heritage Ridden and W.H.P. classes.

Premier League – This show is a qualifier for the B.S.P.S. Premier League. The
1st, 2nd ,3rd and 4th placed ponies in classes 6,16,21,35, 69-73 and 78-81 will
qualify.
Ponies placed 1st in the Open Heritage M&M Classes will qualify for the BSPS WOW
Factor (Winners of Winners) at the BSPS Summer Championship Show..
BRITISH SHOW HORSE ASSOCIATION
Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be
registered with the Association and all owners, exhibitors and riders must be
Association Members. Riders must be 15years of age or older.
Classes 58 - 64 are qualifying classes for the Royal International Horse Show.
The first in each class will qualify, if 1st has already qualified 2nd will qualify. If
1st & 2nd have already qualified then 3rd will qualify. Horses placed 1st, 2nd &
3rd in classes 58- 64 will qualify for the B.S.H A. Classic Supreme Classes at
The Championship Show to be held in September, 2015
Horses competing in Sport Horse Breeding classes of (GB) classes at affiliated
shows cannot compete in Hack & Riding Horse classes at the same show. This
does not apply to SHB(GB) Ridden Sport Horse Classes.
The BSHA offer a Novice, Amateur and Young Rider rosette in each Open class
and a Championship rosette for each section.
DAY TICKETS
Non-Members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 Day Tickets per exhibitor, per
horse, per season. A day ticket will allow entry into Novice, Amateur, Young
Rider Home Produced, Working and Open affiliated classes, but will not allow
entry into Royal International or HOYS qualifying classes. Horses entered on a day
ticket do not require a JMB certificate. Competitors can apply for a day ticket by
downloading an application form from the BSHA website for more information

Rising Stars
Any Exhibitor placed in the first 3 in Intermediate SRT or SHT may enter the
Rising Stars class at the BSHA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS in September
2015. No Qualification card is needed.
SPORT HORSE BREEDING OF GREAT BRITAIN
The Show is affiliated to the S.H.B.(G.B.) and competitors are REQUIRED to
abide by its 2015 rules and regulations. Please refer to the SHB of( GB) Rule
Book. Owners, Riders and Producers of horses competing in RIHS classes run in
accordance with Sport Horse Breeding of GB must be a member of the society.
Amateur Rules – including Amateur Working Hunter
A person is an amateur for showing purposes when showing ridden hunters in an
amateur class if he/she does not:a) Engage in breeding, livery, buying, selling, dealing or hiring horses as a main
source of income since 1st January, 2013.
b) Accept remuneration, either money or goods in kind for employment in
connection with horses in a racing, showing or livery stable or riding school,
(instruction at Pony Club and Riding School excepted) as a main source of income
since 1st January, 2013.
c) Show a horse owned or sponsored by a company or commercial form, or a horse
for which his or her immediate family accepts livery or training charges from a
person outside the immediate concern since 1st January, 2013.
d) Show a horse a professional rider has ridden in any ridden hunter or ridden sport
horse class during the current year with the exception of working hunter and ladies
hunter classes unless the horse has subsequently been re registerd under new
ownership.
e) Professional show persons must not enter the Amateur ring whilst the classes are
in progress .A Professional show person is another term for a professional producer
and as such a professional groom who works for a producer can enter the ring to
groom.

BRITISH SKEWBALD AND PIEBALD ASSOCIATION
These classes are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead
2015. Classes will be judged under B.S.P.A rules which can be downloaded from
www.bspaonline.com. ALL horses/ponies must be registered and all owners and
riders members of B.S.P.A prior to the show. Riders ages taken from 1st January.
Entries may be taken on the day if all qualification and membership cards are
shown.
The 1st placed animal and the highest placed not qualified in the first 3 will qualify
for the R.I.H.S. BSPA Rules apply. All Qualification Cards must be produced in
the ring to be signed by the judge. Qualification will be forfeited if cards are not
produced. Please telephone 01354 638226 to become a member, as all animals &
owners/riders must be members. All stallions must be graded with B.S.P.A. and in
possession of a 2015 B.S.P.A Stallion I.D Card.
Cherif Qualification
There are two classes one not exceeding 148cms and one exceeding 148cms. In the
not exceeding 148cm class the judge will not ride the ponies, ponies will do an
individual show. In this class one pony not ex 138cm will qualify and one 138cm
to 148cm. Both must be within the first 4 to qualify and must be carrying their
qualifying cards with them. In the exceeding 148cm class the judge will ride the
animals. From this class 2 animals may qualify providing they are placed in the
first 4. One animal 148cm to 153cm and one animal exceeding 153cms. Qualifying
cards must be presented in the ring.
2015 Qualifying cards are £25 and are available from Miss Lynda Temple, The

SHOW REGULATIONS
1.
All entries together with the correct fee must reach the Secretary by
10.4.2015. Cheques or P.O made payable to B.S.P.S Area 1a. Late
entries MAY be taken at an increased fee.
2.
This Show is affiliated to the BSPS and all persons entering, competing,
showing or otherwise taking part in classes whether or not members of the
BSPS are subject to the Constitution & Rules of the BSPS including the
disciplinary procedures of the BSPS and shall be deemed to have consented
to the jurisdiction of the BSPS.
3.
The Show will be under the management of the Committee which will have
the power to adjudge any dispute. The decision will be final.
4. The Committee will not be responsible for or liable for any loss or
damage which exhibits pertaining to or connected with any exhibitor may
sustain at the Show neither will the Committee be accountable in any way for
accidents that may occur to any person attending the Show.
5. Please note that times given in the timetable are approximate and competitors
must accept that times could alter depending on entries forward.

The Dorothy Pittendrigh Supreme Championship is
open to the highest placed area 1A member in any of
the B.S.P.S classes. Please wear a red armband when
you are competing if you are eligible for the supreme

Area Best of the Best Championship held at the BSPS
Summer Championships.

CLASS 10 TINY TOTS FIRST RIDDEN Open to Mares or Geldings, 4 years
old or over, not exceeding 122 cms. (12.0 h.h.). Riders not to have

the go round ponies will not be asked to change the rein. In their
individual shows ponies will be expected to walk up, trot back,
cantering is optional but no figure of eight or change of rein required.
In this class the Judge will be looking for a pony suitable to take its
rider off the lead rein at all times. Riders in Tiny Tots First Ridden
classes will not be asked to dismount.

SHB(GB) RULES STATE THAT IN RELATION TO HEADWEAR
COMPETITORS MUST WEAR A SKULL CAP AND SAFETY HARNESS
ACCORDING TO CURRENT BSI OR EUROPEAN STANDARD. SKULL
CAPS MUST HAVE A NAVY OR DARK COVER. ANYONE NOT
ADHERING TO THIS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE RING.
The first two horses in classes 48 – 52 will qualify for the R.I.H.S. Horses must
be registered on the 2015 Show Hunter Register. The first three horses in classes
44, will qualify for the R.I.H.S. Classes 53-54 The first two highest placed smalls
and the two highest placed lightweights will qualify and in the heavyweight section
the two highest placed middleweights and heavyweights will qualify. Owners and
Riders MUST be members of S.H.B. (G.B.) . Horses must be registered on the
2015 Show Hunter Register.
No horse may be entered in both a Ridden Hunter and Ridden Hack or Riding
Horse class at the same show. This does not apply to Working Hunter and Ridden
Sport Horse classes. Grade A showjumpers and Advanced Event Horses are not
eligible to compete in working hunter classes. Any horse who has qualified as a
grade A showjumper or Advanced Event Horse as at 1st January in the current year
is not eligible to compete in Working Hunter classes.
CLASS 43 NOVICE WORKING HUNTER. (UNAFFILIATED) Mare, Gelding
or Stallion,(competing stallions must have a red, white and blue
ribbon displayed in their tail) 4 years old and upwards not having won
a total of £200 (or equivalent values) in prize money in any W.H.
class, excuding championship prize money or more than 25 BHS
Eventing points or £200 BSJA Show-Jumping at home or equivalent
before 1st Jan in the current year. Fences in Novice WH classes
should be a min. of 0.85m (2’9”) and a max of 3 3”. Horses may
compete hors concours but cannot compete in any other working
hunter class at the same show.
CLASS 44 WORKING HUNTER. Mare ,Gelding or Stallion( a competing
stallion must have a red,white and blue ribbon displayed in their tail), exceeding
148 cm.
(14.2 hh approx), 4 years old and over.
The maximum total points available is 100. This is made up of:
Jumping points=Max 40 points, Style &Presence whilst
Jumping=Max 20 points, Ride/Manners=Max 20 Points,
Conformation=Max 20 points Fences a max. 3’9” a minimum of 8
and maximum of 12 at the Judges discretion. No change of tack or
rider between phases. Boots of a dark colour may be worn during the
jumping phase only. Any horse which has qualified as a Grade A
Show jumper or Advanced Event Horse as at 1st Jan in the current
year is not eligible to compete in Working Hunter classes. No hind
boots or bandages of any description are allowed in the collecting

QUALIFIERS, 2015
These classes are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and
are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead. Classes will be
judged under B.S.P.A. rules, copies of which can be obtained from them. All
horses, owners and riders must be members or the B.S.P.A. prior to the Show.
Riders age is taken as Jan. 1st. All stallions must be graded and licensed by
B.S.P.A. and in possession of a B.S.P.A Stallion Card.
No rider
under 14 may exhibit a stallion. Membership and qualification cards must be
carried in the ring by competitors and produced when required for inspection or
signature. Spurs may not be worn in any pony class. Ponies 153cms or under
must possess a J.M.B. current certificate.
Qualification – 1st place and the next unqualified competitor standing 2nd or 3rd
qualify from each class. No competitor lower than 3rd may qualify.
