Grant Opportunities Newsletter Spring 2007 This newsletter is prepared several times a year to inform Colby faculty about available funding opportunities. Projects that apply to more than one major area are located in the “Multidisciplinary Projects” section. If you have questions about these items, call any of us in the Corporate, Foundation, or Government Relations (CFGR) Office: Marci Bernard, Director (x4342, mbernard@colby.edu), Bets Brown (x4341, bbrown@colby.edu), Associate Director, or Julia Gagne (x4340, jgagne@colby.edu), Administrative Secretary. If you have trouble retrieving documents from the server, we can mail you a hard copy. Colby faculty new to submitting proposals can contact Bets Brown for information on the College’s grant application process. The College’s “Intent to Seek External Funding Form” and the “Grant Proposal Endorsement Form” can be found at the Web site of the recently updated CFGR Office (www.colby.edu/administration_cs/cfgr/) or at the Dean of Faculty’s Web site (www.colby.edu/faculty/) under “Faculty Documents.” A final copy of your proposal must be circulated with the proposal endorsement form prior to submission to a funding agency. Notes In recent few years, the federal government has required many proposals to be electronically submitted through one central grant web site, “grants.gov.” These proposals include, but are not limited to, those to NIH, some to NSF, and some to NEH. Submitting through grants.gov requires coordination with the CFGR Office and takes time because of the sequential nature of submissions. Therefore, we ask that faculty to provide two weeks notice for any proposals that requires CFGR's support and that the submission process online begin at least one week prior to the deadline.
