The series Hispanic Heritage includes 16 volumes which contain information on Hispanic culture in the U.S. These are interspersed throughout the non-fiction section; find them by typing “Hispanic Heritage” in the catalog search box, then clicking “Series”. Try the following databases: Biography Reference Bank for biographical information from books and periodicals. Gale E-Books (Gale Virtual Reference Library) for articles from reference books, including The McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of World Biography: an International Reference Work Gale Periodicals for magazine, journal, and newspaper articles. Student Resources in Context for articles from a variety of sources including audio and video. Websites Click on the “Subject Links” button on the LCS High School Library website. Click on the “biography” box on the green grid. This will give you a list of links to websites with great biographical information. If you choose to do a Google (or other search engine) search on your topic, remember that you don’t know if anyone has checked the information that you find. It could be anything from total fabrication to 100% accurate! So be sure to evaluate your websites!
