Introduction
I will talk a little about the top5 most spoken languages in the world. I have
almost all information, but, I’m afraid it isn’t enough.

Where these are spoken?
Note: This list of languages was organized considering the Native Speakers and not the
Mundial Speakers.
 The first most spoken language in the world, Mandarin, is spoken in China, Malaysia
and in Taiwan for about 1051Million of people (873Million Native speakers).
 The Second most spoken language is Spanish with around 500 Million of speakers in
the Americas and in Spain (332Million as Native Speakers).
 The English is spoken in United States of America, United Kingdom, Australia and New
Zealand for around 510 Million for speakers (Around 322Million Native speakers).
 In fourth place Hindi, is a language spoken for about 490 Million of speakers
(182Million Native speakers) is spoken in North and Central India.
 The Last, Arabic has around 255 Millions of speakers (175Million of Native speakers)
and is spoken in Africa (Middle East Africa, North Africa and Arabia)

English
The English language is one of the most “popular” languages spoken as second
language. There is around 720Million of Speaks as English second language in the

The Arabic is common in the North Africa countries as primary language, as
secondary language is common in Ethiopia; Comoros and Israel.
Are these languages learning as a “foreign languages”?

Mandarin – Mandarin language is studied in United States of America, in Association of
Southeast Asian Nations, some European countries, South Africa…
English – The English language is the most studied as foreign language in the European
Union (89%). Books, magazines are valid in any country.
Spanish – Spanish language, like the English language, is studied in the European Union by
around 8% of schoolchildren). Is studied also in United States of America
Arabic / Hindi – I couldn’t find any information for these two countries.
Why these Languages?
Why are these languages on the Top Most Spoken?
Mandarin
Mandarin is the most spoken language in the World because, the Chinese people is the
equivalent to people of the rest of world.
English
English is a very “popular” language, a good part of the countries of the world have this
language as Secondary language. This popularity grow because the English is a widely language
and also called as “global language” in the modern era. Mainly the books or the websites are
written in English. In the sciences the English is much times used.
English isn’t official in most countries but is, at the moment, is the most secondary
language spoken.
Hindi
Hindi is a language formal and technical, useful in Public and in radio or TV. The Hindi is
used in Indian films and spoken in Streets of Bombay. Hindi is “famous” because lot of people
speaks Hindi in Asia.
Spanish
The Spanish language has been spoken in North America since 16th century. This
language has more then 3000 years of development. Spanish derived from Latin, the Roman
Language, the language Spoken in the Roman Empire with enclose many countries of Europe
and Asia.
Thanks to the technical and scientific advances, the neologism entered the Spanish
languages vocabulary up to now rejected.
Arabic
Arabic, since the 7th century as the language of the Qur’an, becomes one of the
major world languages as today. Arabic became the language of the government as
religion.
Concluding…
In the end of the work, I thing my knowledge become more rich. This gave me to know
that English isn’t the most spoken language in the world that I thought it was.
I had some difficult during the information searching, because it was hard to find. I did
the best I can.
