Small Groups Leadership Training 22.02.2012 Lesson 2 - The Church Structure & G-12 Lesson 2: The Church Structure and G-12 The vision of the church is to go to the nations, set them free by the power of the Holy Ghost, train them as disciples, lead them into true joyful worship and into prosperity in order to destroy the enemy's Kingdom on earth - marking them for eternity. At the forefront of this vision is the head pastor. The first level are 12 disciples of the head pastor (pastor Eric, Elder Oliver, Elder Paul, etc). The second level are the 12 disciples of the 12 disciples of the head pastor (12 disciples of pastor Eric, etc) G-12 is not just a church program, but a strategy of salvation for the nation. If all of us are to take part so that each member trains his or her 12 disciples then the results would be following: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th Level from head pastor Level from head pastor Generation Generation Generation Generation Generation = 12 = 144 = 1 728 = 20 736 = 248 832 = 2 985 984 = 35 831 808 disciples; disciples; disciples; disciples; disciples; disciples; disciples; Germany has 82 Million people. The advantages of the G-12 System 1. G-12 is a system of multiplication and not division, like the classical house fellowship system. In the classical house fellowship system there is often insecurity and breakdown after the group has been divided. The G-12 system guarantees friendship even for life. The apostles kept the number 12 even after Judas Iscariot had hanged himself (Acts 1:15-36) 2. G-12 presents a simple transparent system of accountability. Why is this important? Because we all are the body of Christ. Just like the physical body which has got a strict structure of organs and systems:- cells build up tissues, tissues in turn build up organs and organs together form the body (organism). They all carry responsibilities and have their place and assignments. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. This unity of diversity and accountability to one another create anointing (Psalm 133:1-2). The anointing starts from the head and flows down on the whole body. If you don't like the system of being accountable to someone and humbling yourself to receive from your leaders then you cannot receive the anointing which is being poured on the church through the head pastor. G-12 is a system of leadership. Everyone can be a leader - there is no limit. When people join your group, you can tell them that they would become leaders in the future. G-12 is also a leadership school. We don't only take care of each other, pray and serve one another, but also raise up leaders. There shall be courses on the foundations of the christian faith, sanctification, etc. All groups would be required to go through the curriculum and at the end train their members to run their own groups. G-12 gives the opportunity to be in a group with friends, relatives and other people irrespective of where they live. House fellowships were formed based only on territories. With G12 your family together with relatives can even be a group. G-12 gives the opportunity to form groups based on common interests. E.g. for young mothers, business people, musicians, youth, etc.. Such groups move in one direction and become more effective in whatever they do. The G-12 system gives you the freedom to have 2 or more groups - all according to your capacity. E.g. leading new converts on one day and running another group for leaders another day. G-12 gives you the skills needed to work with people even at your place of work. The knowledge and practice you gain in your G-12 would help you to relate better to people at your work or school. Relating and working with people is not easy. Firms cherish people who have such abilities. Remember the bible says that if you are faithful in small things and in another person's work then God will put you in charge of greater things and will give you your own page 1/2 Small Groups Leadership Training 22.02.2012 Lesson 2 - The Church Structure & G-12 (Lk16:10,12). 9. G-12 helps you to release your potential. This happens in a pleasant environment where people would be ready to forgive you if you made a mistake. 10. In the G-12 one is able to develop the best qualities one could find in man - manifest the character of Jesus. The mercy of God allows us to serve anybody at all in the church through loving, taking care of each other and not living like an egoist. 11. G-12 gives you the opportunity to become a source of river flowing to people. When there is no movement, then a body of water becomes stagnant and starts to die. In order not to be stagnant one needs to move - give something to others! 12. G-12 gives us a unique chance of growing exponentially. This system causes a "chain reaction". Our focus is not just the number but the desire to help and establish people - love. You are to serve your disciples and not they serving. 13. G-12 helps to "kill" rebellion within you. Because you are accountable to someone else, this teaches humility. Maybe you know something better than your leader or you speak better than him - this would help you battle pride and develop humility. 14. G-12 is the place where people help each other to fulfill their purpose in life Home Work 1. Tell somebody about the advantages of having G-12. Prove to them that it is vital for YOU yourself. 2. Write down which of the listed advantages of G-12 that were not formally clear to you or you didn't know them. How do you understand them now? 3. Take the forms of new converts who have come to your group before. Look out for their particulars and contact them, not necessarily inviting them to church. Just fellowship with them showing genuine interest in their lives. Show love and care. 4. Every day pray at least 5 minutes (better 1 hour) asking God to show you a vision of your life, just like how He showed Abraham in Genesis 17:4-6. 5. Get near to people who receive Christ during service. Get into contact with the leader of the Guest Centre so that you could interact with new people. Don't be in a hurry to get out of church after service. Come early to church so that you can notice people who are coming to church for the first time. Practicals A. Evangelism With a focused intention try and get into contact with all your neighbors living in your house or block and give them evangelistic tracts in their hands. Get to know them personally and tell them that you are a believer. According to the opportunity you get, pray for their needs and lead them to Christ. You are recommended to keep a diary of people you have visited, their reaction and needs. Pray for them continuously. i. ii. iii. i. ii. iii. B. Worship Pray for the needs of the people found in your visitation diary As a leader you need to pray first for yourself, for your leader and then for your disciples (spiritual children): Jesus prayed for His disciples (Jn 17:2-3, 11, 17, 20-21, 24, 26; Mt 11:25-26). The prayer of apostle Paul for his disciples (2 Tim 1:3; 2 Thess 1:3-5; 1 Thess1:2-4; 2:13; 3:9-13; Col 1:3-12; Philip. 1:3-7, 8-11; Eph 3:14-19; Eph 1:15-19; 1 Cor 1:4-8; Ro 6:17; Ro 1:8-12). How others prayed for the disciples (3 Jn 1:2; Ps 22:30-31; Ps 144:1-2; 12-14; Isaiah 43:6-7; 44:25) When people become born again try as much as possible that they would be baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongue. You may speak to your leader about this. C. Teaching Do the first lesson of the of the first semester of the ACBF bible School with your group. Invite people to church In your first meeting let people introduce themselves. Give ample time for fellowship. In subsequent meetings always make time for fellowship and testimonies about how lives have been changed. page 2/2
