Description: This workshop/forum was provided by Dr. Suzan Thompson and reviewed
the fundamentals and background information of Energy Psychology.
Demonstrations and experiential exercises were included, and various therapeutic
approaches were reviewed.

Description: Dr. Laurie Craigen provided a history of self-injury, definitions, statistical
data, and psychological explanations presented this educational seminar. Ethical
considerations and references were provided, as well as efficacy of various
therapeutic interventions.

funding, the workshop provided a summary of the most important changes made

Description: Invite, Invest, and Inspire: Strategies to Encourage Success. Keynote
Speaker: Dr. Tammy Davis. This workshop provided lesson plans and activities
to engage students in the counseling process and help them develop resilience
characteristics and personal strengths to deal with personal adversity and our
changing world.
Advanced Multicultural Counseling, presented by Courtland Lee, PhD (Big Splash
Seminar, Old Dominion University)
Date: October 18, 2008
Description: This workshop will assist advanced counseling students and culturally
skilled practitioners in enhancing the knowledge and skill components of their
multicultural counseling training. The workshop will focus on conceptualizing an
approach to counseling culturally diverse clients, describing intervention barriers,
identifying relationship problems, and evaluating relationship dimensions of
power, control, oppression, and identity development. Basic multicultural training
will be assumed for participants.
