Bullmastiff Appearance:
1. The Bullmastiff must give the impression of a square
dog.
2. Every part of his body must fit in a square box.
3. Muzzle 1/3 square
4. Head 2/3 square
5. Length of dog + height of dog must be equal (length 27
inch – height 27 inch
6. Bigger is not always better.
7. The Bullmastiff is a working breed, he must be able to
do what he is bred for. There for he should have a good
muscle tone and an alert mind.
Bullmastiffs Temperament:
The Bullmastiff is a guard dog neither aggressive nor shy.
This is just what he was bred for. Bullmastiff will guard his
possessions and you are one of them.
They are not a barking type of dog.
Very placate, lay back, dog.
Not to take it for granted. He will protect his possessions.
There size, huge head make a very impressive dog.
They are good with children, other animals. (If they are
taught the right way)
Obedience training is from at most important.
You need to be in control of this dog and not the dog in control
of you.
This is a very short summary of the Bullmastiff. I will come
back at a later edition to all the faults in the Breed Standard.
My next edition I will discuss the reputable breeder verses
the puppy mill breeder before we look at buying a puppy.
Please forward this to a friend. We need to educate the public
about our beloved breed.
