Cultural Tour - 02 nights / 03 days
Day 1
Pick up clients from Colombo & proceed to
Dambulla. Visit Dambulla Rock Temple, donated
by King Walagambahu in the 1st Century BC, to
the Buddhist monks. This World Heritage site is
the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples.
The complex of five caves with over 200 square
meters of painted walls and ceilings is the largest
area of paintings in the in the world. Over 150
images of Buddha, including a colossal figure
spanning 14 meters, imparts an impressive sight.
On completion proceed to Pelwehera Village Resort for lunch
After lunch visit Sigiriya
Climb the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress which
is a world heritage site, built by King Kashyapa
(477-495 AD). The 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of
unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the scrub
jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of
the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and
extensive gardens including the renowned water
gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the
world-renowned frescoes of the 'Heavenly
Maidens' of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral
stairway. These frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster.
On completion proceed to Kandalama

Day 2
Buffet breakfast at the hotel
After breakfast proceed to Anuradhapura
and step in to the cradle of the Sinhala
civilization. 112 kings ruled Anuradhapura
each king adding to its splendor. Today
Anuradhapura is considered a location of
high religious interest, and many devout
pilgrims visit Anuradhapura. During the
tour of Anuradhapura visit the Sacred Bodhi
Tree grown from a sapling of the very tree
under
which
the
Buddha
attained
Enlightenment, the ruins of the brazen palace (once with 1000 rooms) the Ruvanveliseya
(92 M) the Abhayagiriya Dagabe (113 M), the Jetawana Stupa (122 M), - huge monuments
built for the veneration and follow of Budhism magnificent Dagabe,) the carved guards
stones, the moonstone (depicting the life cycle of man), stone bridges, pleasure gardens,
and also huge man made reservoirs.

After lunch return back to hotel
Evening at leisure
Buffet dinner at the hotel
Overnight stay in the hotel on Half-board basis
Day 3
After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Polonnaruwa.
Do a tour in Polonnaruwa
The second capital city of Sri Lanka, built in the
11th and 12th centuries AD. Visit the ruins of the
Royal Palace, the Gal Vihara (where four
splendid statues of Buddha in different poses are
carved out of rock) and numerous other historic
attractions at this World Heritage site.

On Completion proceed to Colombo
