CHESAPEAKE, VA – The Chesapeake United Soccer Club is pleased to announce the hiring of Brian Hinkey as the club’s Director of Coaching Boys. “We are very excited and fortunate to have Brian join the DOC staff at Chesapeake United. Brian brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the club and his work ethic will continue to enhance our goals for Chesapeake United. It has been exciting to see the progress CUSC has made over the last six months and I look forward to Brian sharing his knowledge and passion for soccer to the players, coaches and parents of Chesapeake United Soccer Club”, said Matt Busch, Technical Director Coach Hinkey has a wealth of coaching and playing experience as well as player development at nearly all levels of play. He is the current Head Coach for the Virginia Beach City FC men’s team based in Southeast Virginia. Prior to that he was the Director of Player Development for Beach FC from 2010 – 2014 and Operations Manager and Staff coach for Prince William Courage from 2007 – 2010. Brian holds the USSF “A” License, USSF National Youth License, NSCAA State Goalkeeping Diploma and the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. He is currently serving on the staff of VYSA District ODP, and he is on the VYSA Coaching Education Staff as a United States Soccer Federation Licensing Instructor. Brian’s playing experience includes U.S. Youth National U18 Team in 1994. He then played for the College of William and Mary prior to playing professional for the Cleveland Crunch of the MISL, Nashville Metros of the USL Pro, and Kansas City Comets of the MISL. Brian has been responsible for every facet of youth soccer from recreational player development, competitive level coach, Director of numerous Camps, and the youth academy for ages U4 – U8. Chesapeake United Soccer Club is proud to have him as part of the staff. “I am excited to be a part of the Chesapeake United team. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the club’s players, coaches, and parents. I believe Chesapeake United has great potential and forward thinking leadership. As the Boys Coaching Director, I will seek to enhance the developmental opportunities for the players and coaching staff, and will be an accessible resource for the parents. I am pleased to be joining Matt, Tony, and Kristin. They are honest and hardworking people. I will grow through their company and hope to contribute to their growth as well. I look forward to meeting everyone in the next few weeks and getting started on the fields,” said Brian Hinkey. “We are excited to bring Brian onboard to join the rest of our enthusiastic staff. It was apparent to me that Brian shares the same vision as we have for the club and we are even more confident now in our goals. Brian is well known for his energy and dedication to youth player development and that’s precisely the personality we want on our staff. With Brian, Matt, Tony, and Kristin involved, we now have a near complete staff with exceptional people that put everything in perspective with the right priorities for our players and coaches”, stated Tom Goodson – CUSC President.
