Elizabeth Blackwell Institute TRACK Award 2014 application form TRACK Awards (Translational Acceleration and Knowledge Transfer Awards) support health related research projects which have translational/commercial potential but need to undertake an additional, specific piece of work in order to secure further translational or commercial funding. Projects must demonstrate that they will reach a definable milestone that will enable the project to progress to the next stage. Eligibility: This funding scheme is open to all University of Bristol permanent academic staff or senior, independently funded research fellows. We especially encourage projects that already have industry interest. Allowed costs: Awards can be used as creatively as you like, but you must demonstrate a clear translational end point for the project and a clear route to follow on funding. Awards can be used to fund extensions to staff contracts, mobility, prototyping and/or equipment costs, consumables but not to hire new staff. It is expected that awards will be in the region of £15K per project, and for up to 12 months in duration. We expect to fund up to 4 projects in 2014. Applicants must fully justify the request for resources. Internal applicants must submit an approved full Economic Costing (fEC) as part of the application process. Application process: TRACK Award applications will be considered once during 2014. Please send your completed application form to ebi-health@bristol.ac.uk Deadline for submission is 20th of June 2014. Applicants will be informed of the decision within four weeks of application submission. Awards must be taken up and projects commence by the end of 2014 at the very latest. If you would like to discuss your application before submitting it please do not hesitate to contact the EBI Manager, Dr Nina Couzin (nina.couzin@bristol.ac.uk) Terms & Conditions: The funds for this scheme include contributions from our Wellcome Trust Institutional Strategic Support Fund and as such are covered by the Wellcome Trust terms and conditions which can be read here: http://www.wellcome.ac.uk/stellent/groups/corporatesite/@sf_central_grants_admin/documents/web_document/wtx026668.pdf We would like to draw your attention to one particular clause which refers to the revenue and equity sharing terms of the Wellcome Trust that you would have to accept should any intellectual property arise from the project.
