Dr Wesley Hayes
Wesley is a paediatric nephrologist at the Bristol Children’s Renal Unit which cares for children with kidney
disease in the South West region. Prior to medical training he worked in industry as an electronic and
software engineer, a background which shapes his research interests.
Wesley is particularly interested in the application of new technologies to improve health and nutrition in
children with kidney disease. Developing robust assessments of patients’ fluid status and nutritional status
is a key element of this and the focus of current work.
