Jane Kim, soprano and pianist, received her Master of Music degree in Voice and Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano, from California State University, Fullerton. In the area of voice, she has studied with internationally and nationally renowned teachers and coaches such as, Leona Roberts, Young Mi Kim, Mark Goodrich, Suzanne Harmon, Mark Salters, and Grant Rohr. Her prominent piano teachers include Susan Svrcek, Lucinda Carver, Lucerne DeSa, Judith Tanksley, and Ruth Moore. Ms. Kim’s vocal performances and experiences include recitals of German, French, Italian, American, and Korean song literature, Sacred songs, Oratorio, Opera, Operetta, and Musical Theater, comprising the works of Franz Schubert’s Der Hirst auf dem Felsen, J. S. Bach’s Magnificat, Wolfgang Mozart’s Verspera solemnes de confessore, Giovanni Pergolesi’s Magnificat, Théodore Dubois’ The Seven Last Words of Christ, Weill’s Street Scenes, Aaron Copland’s Tenderland, Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel, and Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance. In the area of keyboard performances, her specialized performances include Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Alberto Ginastera. Ms. Kim has held extended positions as organist, piano accompanist and guest soprano soloist for Puritan Presbyterian Church, East Whittier Presbyterian Church, Suh Moon Reformed Presbyterian Church, Community Baptist Church, Manhattan, Nachinbam Church, Mission Community Church, Point Loma Nazarene University, Orange County Literacy Council, Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Citizen Center, and Lathrop Elementary School, Vanguard University of Southern California, and Claremont Graduate University. She was honored and is a member of the National Music Society, Pi Kappa Lambda, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and the Music Teachers’ Association of California. Currently, Ms. Kim is an adjunct faculty for three colleges and teaches Beginning Group Piano Class at Santiago Canyon College, Introduction to Opera and For the Love of Music at Saddleback College, Emeritus Institute, Vocal instruction as an associate faculty at Vanguard University of Southern California as well as maintaining a successful private voice and piano studio in Orange County, California. Ms. Kim is also involved with the Sanctuary Choir of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach, Ca.
