1. Bob played and played.
2. At last some of his pals told him,
“It’s late. You must run to be home by
five.”
3. As Bob ran home, a man said, “I see a
hill of mud that can run.”
4. Bob made it home by five.
5. His dad said, “But you didn’t stay near
the path.”
6. So Bob can’t hike with his pals for
some time.

1. Dear Dad,
The other day we rode bikes to the

3. I had my gear near the bee hive. Bees
gave me some tears.
4. I have a sore ear, but I can hear.
5. I have a sore rear. So I can’t sit.
6. And I can’t ride my bike for a while.

The Bug and the Toad
1. A toad had a fine home.
2. A mean bug dug a hole into the home.
3. The toad said, “This is my home. Don’t
make holes in it.”
4. The bug said, “I can make holes if I
feel like it.”
5. The toad said, “And I can eat bugs if I
feel like it.”
6. And the toad did just that.

I Wait for My Pal
1. I hate to wait. But I have to sit and
wait while it rains.
2. I wait for my pal, the mail man.
3. The rain has made him late.
4. That rain will soak my coat and my
tail, but I will sit in the rain.
5. At least I hear him and see him.
6. I will jump up. It’s time for us to
have some fun.

Fun With My Pal
1. I sat in the rain, but at last my pal
came home.
2. We had fun as we played with a stick.
We played in the rain.
3. He told me it was time to eat.
4. We ate near the stove in his home.
5. At last I am dry. So I go to the rug.
6. I can hear the rain, but I am dry. And
it is time for me to sleep.

A Mean Wind - Part 1
1. A mean wind made three pals cold. So
the pals made a fire near a farm.
2. The mean wind said, “I will blow and
make that fire big.”
3. The wind made flames leap way up.
4. The pals said, “We have to keep this
fire from the barn.”
5. But the pals didn’t hold the fire.
6. And in no time, that fire was near the
barn.

A Mean Wind - Part 2
1. A mean wind made a fire leap over to a
barn.
2. The wind made a bad joke.
3. The wind said, “Ho ho. It’s time for a
barn fire.”
4. The pals said, “If we don’t hold this
fire, the barn will go up in flames.”
5. The mean wind said, “You can’t keep
these flames away from the barn.”
6. And the wind made the fire jump up and
lick at the barn.

A Mean Wind – Part 3
1. The mean wind said, “I will blow big
flames up the side of that barn.”
2. But as the flames began to leap up the
side of the barn, rain came from the sky.
3. The rain said to the mean wind, “I will
keep those flames away from the barn.”
4. In no time, the fire was no more.
5. The rain told the wind, “Leave this
farm or I will soak you some more.”
6. The pals said, “We like rain.” But the
mean wind said, “I hate the rain.”
