Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Nurul Taufiqu Rochman, M. Eng. has worked
at Division of Advanced Materials, Research Center for
Physics, Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) since
1990. He graduated with Doctoral degree in 2000 from
Kagoshima University and continued to do research for
more than 3 years under Japan Science and
Technology Corporation (JST) and Japan Society for
the Promotion of Sciences (JSPS) programs at
Kagoshima
Prefectural
Institute
of
Industrial
Technology. Recently, he has responsibility to lead nanotechnology research group and has
several grants of nanotechnology projects from The State Ministry of Research and
Technology (KNRT), Republic of Indonesia. His research deals with “Development of
Nanotechnology based on Local Resources Prepared by Ball Mill”. He also inisiated
Indonesian Society for Nanotechnology in 2005 and has been choosen as the chairman. This
professional organization has many activities and programs to accelerate development of
research on nanotechnology in Indonesia. (for the detial information please see the following

Dr. Nurul Taufiqu Rochman has published many international and national publications in
the field on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology. He also has achieved several patents
and copyrights. Recently, he has developed a new approach for young generation to
understand nanoscience and nanotechnology in the early time named “Nano-edu”. Nano-edu
is a tool kit for educationg students about atomic phenomena by modelling them with small
balls put in side two transparant materials. Now, Nano-edu is promoted in high school in
Indonesia. Dr. Nurul Taufiqu Rochman also received several awards from professional
organizations (1995, Hatakeyama Award from The Japan Society for Mechanical Engineering
(JSME) and PII Engineering Award 2005 from Institution of Engineers, Indonesia),
Indonesian Institute of Sciences (2004, as the best researcher in the 12th Indonesian Young
Researcher Competition), and national magazine (2005, The Best Innovations & The Best
Ideas In Business Award 2005, SWA magazine).
