SM expressed his concern regarding traffic management and single lane closures (affecting the economy of the area) however it was noted that to maintain a safe working environment the management systems in place would have been assessed as required. Machine patching is complete. Transerv are hoping to have marking refresh works complete by the Bob end of March. Any recommendations for additional markings will be considered following the Mitchell/George conclusions of the traffic study. Anderson An Aird Roundabout (Morrison’s) Belford Hospital crossing Inverlochy traffic signals Caol link road Traffic Modelling study Person (s) Timescale On-going Work looking into the removal of right hand turn lane to hospital (before lights) to reduce stacking space has been put on hold pending the outcome of the traffic study. Concern was raised at the length of time it was taking for the lights to change to the green man when Bob Mitchell called. To be looked into. Discussion surrounding this area was dealt with under traffic modelling study. BM confirmed that a letter had been received from the Director of TECs (circulated to those present) Brian Murphy/ stating that an outline business case in the first instance would need to be made for getting the STAG Bren Gormley appraisal works into the Councils capital programme. Cllrs are meeting with officers shortly to progress the submission of the required OBC. Bob Mitchell shared information from the initial modelling works with the group. A number of points were noted - Actual peak flow numbers are required to check modelling results. Plan to undertake counts in August to gain this information. - Following collection of August data, revised modelling will be done to include: Inverlochy junction – a) with roundabout b) without lights Morrison’s RB area a) right hand ban taken away b) Signals c) additional roundabout 1 Lochy Bridge roundabout Banavie Swing Bridge Torlundy cycle way Signage Special Street designation Culverts/Gullies Once modelling has taken place the next stage will be instructing preliminary engineering works to Bob Mitchell check the feasibility of any identified improvements. All works are complete apart from planting on the roundabout. It was noted that the mounded design is deliberate to slow down traffic and obscure glare from the petrol station. No progress to date regarding local closure protocol. BM to follow up. Bob Mitchell Design ready to be issued in the new financial year. Bob Mitchell In hand. Going to utilities meeting in May. Consultation period to follow. Area to be covered by SSD is West End (town) to Lochy Bridge. Transport Scotland will issue a press release when appropriate. No issues identified at Nevis Bridge. Flooding remains an issue by the leisure centre. ScTr to look at in discussion with Mark Smith (HC). It was noted that there also appeared to be gully/standing water issues between the petrol station and Claggan road end and at the crossing by the leisure centre. Bod Mitchell will try and progress but it is not a priority for TS. ScTr have patrols set up to monitor potential landslip areas. Torlundy road markings –Transport Scotland have stated they will not move from the present legal 3 – AOCB markings. Item to be removed from future meetings. Noted CC desire for a bus stop (North). Next Meeting Obstruction of view – The group supported the pursuing of community benefit for FCS works in the Stewart form of vegetation/tree clearance to clear views. It was noted that a local ‘views from the road’ Maclean/Cllrs document had been produced a number of years ago by SNH which identified specific areas for clearance.
