RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO JOIN THE NORTHERN TIER
SCHOOL INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, Nebraska Law (Neb. Rev. Stat. $$ 13-801, et. seq., as amended)
allows political subdivisions of government, including school districts, to enter into
interlocal agreements to make the most efficient use of their taxing authority and other
powers by enabling them to cooperate with other political subdivisions on a basis or
mutual advantage and to thereby provide services and facilities in a manner and pursuant
to forms of governmental organization that will best accord with the geographic,
economic, population, and other factors influencing the needs and development of local
communities; and
WHEREAS, District No. 45-0044 of Holt County, Nebraska, is considering
entering into an Interlocal Agreement with other school districts to cooperate, provide,
and implement appropriate special educational programs in accordance with the laws,
rules and regulations adopted or promulgated by the Nebraska Department of Education,
the State of Nebraska, and the United States of America; and
WHEREAS, said Interlocal Agreement would create a member-group of school
districts for the aforementioned purpose to be known as the Northern Tier Schools”; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Education of School District No. 45-0044 of Holt
County, Nebraska, desires to become a member of the “Northern Tier Schools”; for the
aforementioned purpose upon the development of said Interlocal Agreement for approval
by the Board of Education’
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing recitals, the school board
of Stuart Public School hereby adopts the following Resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education of School District
No. 45-0044 of Holt County, Nebraska, that upon
the development of an Interlocal Agreement to form the
“Northern Tier Schools” in which school districts can join together
to cooperate, provide, and implement appropriate special educational
programs or any other actions as allowed by law and the Interlocal
agreement, in accordance with the laws, rules and regulations
adopted or promulgated by the Nebraska Department of Education,
the State of Nebraska, and the United States of America, which is
agreeable to the Board of Education, that the Board intends to
approve said Interlocal Agreement and become a participating member
of and in the “Northern Tier Schools”.
