The Katonah Museum of Art Annual Benefit at the Historic Roosevelt Ballroom Breaks the Mold with a Hip Party That Will Be Anything But Ordinary Saturday, May 31st at 7:30pm The Katonah Museum of Art’s annual Benefit, “An Artful Event,” will regale guests with live music, dancing, a photography exhibition/auction, savory food, cocktails, a choice of sit-down or casual-chic buffet-style dining, and a tribute to some of our community’s outstanding leaders in the arts. This promises to be a hip, fun and sophisticated evening at the Roosevelt Ballroom in the revitalized landmark district of Yonkers. The May 31st event begins at 7:30pm and will feature performances by Brazilian jazz singer Maucha Adnet, and post-dinner dance music by The Right Out Louds (www.rightoutlouds.com). Jeanne’s husband, Academy Award-winner Chris Wedge, is creative director and partner of Blue Sky Studios, the corporate honoree; the Museum also honors the Alperts at the benefit on May 31st, for their contributions to KMA, Mary Lou as a long-time powerhouse behind exhibitions and programming, and Ira as member of the Board of Overseers. The KMA celebrates the energy and contributions of Mary Lou and Ira Alpert. For many years, Mary Lou has played a significant role in developing programs and exhibitions such as Toying with Architecture, Polish Posters: Combat on Paper, and Private Worlds: Classic Outsider Art From Europe. Ira, a member of the Board of Overseers, is an avid supporter of the Museum. The benefit’s photo auction has been curated by Ms. Alpert and Helena Louise Sokoloff. The Right Out Louds, L to R: Andy Keir, Liam Melanophy, Barbara Warnke, Campbell Scott, Jim Bacon, will be the post-dinner dancing band at the Katonah Museum of Art benefit on May 31st. The Museum’s second honoree is Blue Sky Studios. Katonah resident and Academy Award winner Chris Wedge is Vice President and Creative Director at Blue Sky. He directed the animated films Ice Age and Robots and is executive producer of the current smash-hit Horton Hears A Who.
