(6) Have there been any incidents or accidents since 2000 where the medical condition of a firefighter
contributed to the incident? Was anyone hurt and was the medical condition identifiable?
(7) What medical checks are done for obesity, heart problems or bad backs? How frequent are these
checks?
(8) What checks are done for both recreational drugs or prescribed drugs?
(9) Do pre-existing medical conditions have to be disclosed by new applicants (whether salaried or
volunteers)?

(1) Is the Minister or his department supporting the ‘back zoning’ of land in the Pacific Palms region
from ‘village zoning’ (residential) to conservation?
(2) If so, why?
(3) If so, what studies have been undertaken by the Minister or his department to justify such ‘back
zoning’?
(4) Has a Local Environmental Study been undertaken by the Great Lakes Council of the Pacific Palms
area?
(5) Was the land that may be ‘back zoned’ to conservation included in such study?
(6) If not, how does the Minister or his department justify such ‘back zoning’ if no study has been
undertaken?
(7) Has the Great Lakes Council lodged a Local Environmental Plan (LEP) for you or your department’s
consent or concurrence?
(8) If so, what is the current status of such LEP?
(9) If so, does such LEP have land descriptions within it that were outside any study area that may have
been studied for the completion of the LEP?
(10) If so, how can it be justified to add land to the LEP if outside the study area?
(11) Does the LEP create a new (7a1) conservation zone?
(12) If so, how does that align with your policy of creating uniform and fewer zones across NSW?
(13) If so, what is the scientific and other criteria that enables such conservation zoning to be applied to
land?
(14) If so, does the conservation zone apply to adopted asset protection zones and gazetted road reserves?
(15) If so, how does such conservation zone affect use of and maintenance of such reserves and asset
protection zones?

Jimmy’s Beach in Port Stephens?

of such sand renourishment on weed beds in Port Stephens?

Evans from the Office of the General-In-Residence, the United Cultural Convention (American
Biographical Institute 5126 Bur Oak Circle PO Box 31226 Raleigh NC 27622 USA), which seeks to
nominate people for the United Cultural Convention’s International Peace Prize, which seeks to
induce people to purchase a personalised engraved plaque for the amount of US$295 and which
represents that the names of the recipients will be forwarded to the United Nations?
(2) Has the Office of Fair Trading investigated the matter?
(3) If so, on what dates and what specific action was taken by the Office of Fair Trading regarding this
particular scam?
(4) If so, what were the results of the investigations?
3603 ALCOHOL VOUCHERS IN RECORD PROMOTIONS TO YOUTH—Ms Hodgkinson to Attorney
General, and Minister for the Environment, representing the Minister for Justice, Minister for Fair

(1) Is the Office of Fair Trading aware of alcohol vouchers being used in a CD promotion, including
some Virgin and Sanity stores which were handing out Smirnoff Black Ice vouchers with every CD
purchase of more than $20 and were inappropriately targeting youth through using the image of
young female pop singer Hilary Duff?
(2) Did the Office of Fair Trading investigate the matter or take any action to halt the promotions?
(3) If so, what actions did the Office of Fair Trading take in relation to this matter?
(4) If so, what were the results of the investigations?
3604 LICENSING DELAYS—Ms Hodgkinson to Attorney General, and Minister for the Environment,

(1) What is the median time taken for the Office of Fair Trading to process company licence
applications for building supervisors in the following categories:
(a) New licence applications;
(b) Renewal licence applications?
(2) Why has the Office of Fair Trading taken over two months to process the licence application for the
renewal of the company supervisor’s licence of Wenham’s Builders Newcastle Pty Ltd?
(3) When processing a building company supervisor’s licence application, is consideration taken into
account for the company being a previous licence holder, its previous unblemished record, or its
membership of the HIA and MBA? If not, why not?
(4) How can the Office of Fair Trading justify its delays, in which it cannot process a simple licence
renewal application in less than two months when it only takes 18 weeks to build a three-bedroom
home?

In relation to police accommodation:
(1) Are you aware of complaints by police concerning maintenance delays on police stations and police
residences?
(2) How is the annual budget for maintenance determined, i.e. top down or bottom up?

signals, and continues to attempt to evade police apprehension”) why have you refused to introduce this
legislative amendment?
