Category A Scholarships
Category A scholarships can be awarded to masters students from all countries other than the 28
EU member states and EEA/EFTA states: Iceland, Lichtenstein, Schweiz and Norway. Furthermore,
you must comply with the 12 months rule: You must not be a resident nor have carried out main
activity (studies, work etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of
these countries.
Category B Scholarships
Category B scholarships can be awarded to any masters students who do not fulfil the criteria A
defined above, i.e. nationality requirement and 12 months rule.

Language Proficiency - tests
All non-native speakers must demonstrate their English proficiency with a test result in English as a
Foreign Language (TOEFL minimum score 560 / IBT minimum of 83 or IELTS score of 6.5). The period
between the proficiency test and this application should not exceed two years.
Please note, institutional tests are not accepted.
Certified copies of the test result must be included at the time of application. Applications that do
not include a valid language test will NOT be assessed. NOTE: Applicants with a first degree from
an EEA/EFTA country must submit their language test result when contacted directly from the SUTROFOR
Secretariat

Personal data is collected and used in accordance with Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament
and of the Council of 24 October 1995 on “the protection of individuals with regard to the processing
of personal data and on the free movement of such data”.

Applications are assessed according to five assessment categories: (Academic
potential, English proficiency, motivation, recommendations and relevant work experience).
Each category is allocated a grade between 0 and 5. A final application grade is obtained using
a weighting system whereby 60% of the final grade is allocated to academic potential and 10%
to each other category.
