How to dispose domestic waste Trash should be taken out on a garbage collection day by 8:30 am. ● You should sort and put the trash into specified garbage bags. Then write down your name and take it out for collection. ● Trash that do not fit into garbage bags should be fixed with a collection ticket. Write down your name on it and take it out for collection. Depends on its size, it may be handled as “bulky waste”. ● Trash that are not sorted correctly or without any name written on it shall not be collected. ● A collection site is under the management of the town council where it is located. Trash cannot be simply brought into another collection site. Type of Waste ★ Please check the collection date with the “Garbage Collection Calendar”. You may request the non-industrial waste collection operator to either take it directly to Izumo Industrial Energy Center or to disposal sites listed on page 11. The person who discharge this type of waste will be responsible for its disposal according to its disposal standards. This type of waste cannot be sent to garbage collection site or recycling centers. (Any questions related to industrial waste can be directed to Izumo Health Center TEL 21-1197) ※ Industrial waste is defined by law and ordinance as a waste that is a product of industrial activities, and has the possibility to cause environmental pollution, quantitatively and qualitatively. Wastes that do not come under this definition will be handled as non-industrial waste. -1- ① Burnable Waste With the exception of January 1st – 3rd, collection will be made even on public holidays and year end. Put your burnable waste into the designated “Burnable waste” bag (white). One L size bag can fit up to 10 kg of trash, and an S size bag can fit up to 6 kg of trash. Together with the trash taken out using collection ticket, you can take out 4 pieces of trash for collection at one time. (50 yen per piece) Make sure the burnable waste that is not in garbage bags is: 1. 1 m and less in length, 2. the total of its height, width and depth is within 2 m, 3. and its weight is within 10 kg. Fix the “Burnable waste collection ticket” to each of the trash directly, write your name and take it out for collection. -2- ② Shredded Waste Put your “Shredded Waste” into the designated “Shredded Waste” bag (Yellow). One L size bag can fit up to 10 kg of trash, and an S size bag can fit up to 6 kg of trash.
