There are two positions – with locations in Fremont, CA and Albany, NY. Process development with a focus on developing the capability to create processes and support joint development projects (JDP) with customers on new products. Must be comfortable in clean room and lab environment running experiments on Lam equipment under development. Expected to become expert at numerous wafer, film and profile metrology methodologies. It is expected that travel time will be required to support process start up activities at customer sites once engineer is sufficiently trained, ie, a few 2-4 week trips a year Develop process/hardware and capable of process/hardware troubleshooting resulting in problem resolution. Must be able to make well informed priority decisions independently. Excellence in written, verbal and electronic communication is absolutely critical. Minimum PhD degree in related field with preference for the following additional experience - 5+ years experience in plasma etching for semiconductor processes and equipment companies. - Understand hardware and process interaction in the plasma etching. - Understand practical/theoretical plasma physics that can be applied to plasma etching technology. - Significant semiconductor fab experience qualifying new processes or plasma process development experience.
