Admission Information for Transfer Students
ACU defines a transfer student as a student who has been out of high school for at least one full semester and has
attempted college or university work elsewhere for credit. Admission to ACU does not guarantee admission to the
School of Nursing. Individuals who plan to apply as transfer students are urged to contact the ACU School of
Nursing office in order to receive current information.
There is a separate application process for applying to the School of Nursing after being accepted to the
University. In order to apply to the University please refer to the Transfer Admissions Process at

Pursuing Nursing Major After Previous Nursing School Enrollment
Only transfer students in good standing and eligible for readmission to the previous program(s) will be permitted to
pursue a nursing major at ACU.

The following are transfer policies for students wishing to declare Nursing as their major.

All applicants must be eligible for admission to ACU. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is necessary to apply to
the School of Nursing
All official academic transcripts must be provided and submitted to the Registrar’s office.
No grade less than C will transfer to ACU for academic credit.
Admission to Undergraduate Nursing

Admission to ACU does not guarantee admission to the ACU School of Nursing.
Transfer Applicants- Due to limited seats available set by the Texas Board of Nursing, the most
qualified transfer applicants are admitted to the School of Nursing based on GPA, Scores on the HESI
A2 entrance exam and completion of course prerequisites. Deadline for submission and completion of
all required materials is February 1st for the fall term. Please submit prior to or by the due date:

Completion of BSN Degree
In compliance with the policy of the Texas Board of Nursing all applicants are informed that completion of the BSN
degree does not guarantee eligibility for the registered nurse licensure examination. Professional character is
necessary for an individual to conform to the requirements of the Nurse Practice Act. Individuals should seek special
advising prior to enrolling in any professional nursing program.
Notice of Conditions that might Disqualify Students Eligibility for Licensure
In compliance with the policy of the Texas Board of Nursing all applicants are informed that completion of the BSN
degree does not guarantee eligibility for the registered nurse licensure examination. Professional character is
necessary for an individual to conform to the requirements of the Nurse Practice Act. Individuals should seek special
advising prior to enrolling in any professional nursing program in Texas if they have a personal history involving
conditions that may endanger the health and safety of a person. Such conditions include but are not limited to:

*You may only exclude Class C misdemeanor traffic violations.
NOTE: Expunged and Sealed Offenses: While expunged or sealed offenses, arrests, tickets, or citations
need not be disclosed, it is your responsibility to ensure the offense, arrest, ticket or citation has, in fact,
been expunged or sealed. It is recommended that you submit a copy of the Court Order expunging or sealing
the record in question to Texas Board of Nursing office with your application. Failure to reveal an offense,
arrest, ticket, or citation that is not in fact expunged or sealed may subject your license to a disciplinary
order and fine. Non-disclosure of relevant offenses raises questions related to truthfulness and character.

NOTE: Orders of Non-Disclosure: Pursuant to Tex. Gov’t Code § 552.142(b), if you have criminal
matters that are the subject of an order of non-disclosure you are not required to reveal those criminal
matters on this form. However, a criminal matter that is the subject of an order of non-disclosure may
become a character and fitness issue. Pursuant to other sections of the Gov’t Code chapter 411, the Texas
Nursing Board is entitled to access criminal history record information that is the subject of an order of nondisclosure. If the Board discovers a criminal matter that is the subject of an order of non-disclosure, even if
you properly did not reveal that matter, the Board may require you to provide information about any conduct
that raises issues of character.
