GreenTech Module Specifications – GreenRoofs; Natural Green Applications
The GreenTech module is made of high-density polyethylene plastic (virgin or recycled). Athletic field applications use virgin resin
and GreenRoofs are made of 100% post industrial recycled resin. They are molded and reinforced to provide adequate strength,
durability, and a long life expectancy. The GreenTech System is designed with channels beneath each module to provide forklift
access for transportation and rotation. These channels along with the choice of soils manage drainage rates, gas exchange, and reduce
weight. Water flows directly through the module to the surface below and follows the grade to a drain. The system can be used on
any roof system.

Each module covers approximately 14.5 sq. ft. (1.35 sq. mtr.) of area. The bottom base of the module is perforated for superior
drainage, moisture injection, temperature control, aeration, and gas exchange within the root zone. The drainage rate of the module is
+/- 96 GPM or 643 inches/hr for an athletic field. Root zone infiltration is 11 inches/hr with a proper root zone mix. Drainage rates,
temperature control, vacuum and gas exchange rates can be significantly enhanced with mechanical devices and vary with the choice
of root zone materials. Weight and water retention is a function of the chosen soils and depths of that soil for a greenroof.
The modules connect with each other using a foot locator pad. A protrusion on this pad fits into an indention under the corner of each
of four intersecting modules, locking them together. This pad insures the proper alignment of one module to another and locks them
into position with each other preventing movement. The module is designed with optional fences that fold up and down along each
side. These fences provide containment of the root zone during construction, and a leveling guide for the grading of the root zone
prior to planting if needed. Once rooted, the fences are lowered for soil to soil contact. They can be moved upright during
transportation and for storage to protect against loss of root zone materials and maintain moisture levels. A corrugated plastic sleeve
is another option for deeper soil profiles. Most Green Roof applications do not require the optional fences.
