Red Poll & Maine-Anjou Beef Australia Sale 2015
Dear Breeder,
Please find enclosed the Entry Form for the Red Poll and Maine-Anjou Beef Australia
Sale which will be held on Saturday 14th March, 2015 at the Whittlesea Showgrounds.
As was the case for 2014, the Sale will again be for Stud Animals and Commercial
Cattle. Commercials may be submitted as pens of up to 5, and should be at least 50% Red Poll or
50% Maine-Anjou.
In order to make the Sale more attractive to purchasers and vendors, separate colour
photos of each Lot are required. We ask that you submit the colour photos with your entry form
or preferably via email to mainepark@bigpond.com . Individual breeders may also submit
videos of their Sale animals for display on their relevant breed websites or for links
to their own websites.
Please provide results of any performance tests, e.g. breedplan, live animal. assessment or
genetic testing as these can provide added market value to your offering.
If you are not in the JD Map Program, but can declare your herd as a ‘Beef Only’ Herd,
this may improve the saleability of your stock (See Herd Health Statement). We are working hard
to promote the Sale, and any assistance you can provide us would be appreciated, including
advertising in the Catalogue and suggesting new vendors and buyers. We require the entries,
with payment, by the deadline 31st December, 2014 to enable the catalogue to be printed and
distributed at a reasonable time before the Sale. THIS DEADLINE WILL BE STRICTLY
ADHERED TO.
Purchasers are responsible for transport arrangements unless otherwise stated in the
Catalogue.
We encourage all members to enter some of their best animals, so that a wide range of genetics is
available to buyers. We look forward to your support for this upcoming event, which is the only
multivendor sale planned for the two breeds for 2015. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you

The Catalogue will be A4 size, in Full Colour, and will be added to Red Poll
Maine-Anjou and Landmark Websites for viewing.
Advertising in the Sale Catalogue is available in Colour - Full Page $220; Half
Page $121. All advertising must be paid for when submitting entries and advertising
material set out as required.
All Stud animals (including calves) must be currently registered and will be
inspected prior to the Sale for breed standard, tattoos, soundness (feet & condition),
temperament, etc.
All commercial animals must be at least 50% Red Poll or 50% Maine-Anjou.
( Commercial bulls will not be accepted).
Bulls will be weighed at the Sale on Saturday morning.
Females under 12 months old must be unjoined on Sale Day.
Cows with calves(if the calf is over 6 months old)- Dam should be PTIC.
Retention of semen or embryos from Sale Animals either in utero or frozen, must
be declared.
Collection of semen or embryos is the buyer’s responsibility from the site of
storage, which must be listed in the Catalogue.
Transfers of all cattle and calves at foot are the responsibility of the vendor, and
must be effected immediately following the Sale.
The Sale Committee reserves the right to make any alterations to the Sale or, at
their discretion, to reject any cattle (please ensure cattle entered are of a high
standard)
Warranties: All stock sold must be as described in the Sale Catalogue & of sound
and fertile condition. Where a Purchaser submits a Veterinary Report to the Vendor
that an animal purchased at this Sale is infertile (within 12 months of the Sale Date
for females and 6 months for bulls by natural service) the Vendor is only liable to
refund the purchase price in full.
Entries of animals for sale will only be accepted from financial members of their
respective Breed.
A Signed National Vendor Declaration is to be handed to a Landmark Agent prior
to the commencement of the Sale.
All vendors MUST comply with the Johnes Regulations by completing the
National Animal Health Statement provided which includes Beef Only

Declarations. (NOTE: Beef Only Herd Cattle may be eligible to be introduced
into JDMAP Herds – see regulations.)
All sale cattle must have an NLIS Ear Tag affixed prior to arrival at the
Showgrounds.
Arrivals: All sale cattle must be on the Whittlesea Showgrounds by 8.00 am on
Saturday 14th March 2015. (The Showgrounds will be open from 12 noon, Friday
13th March, 2015).
Entry Forms must be completed and signed by Vendors and must include a copy of
registration certificates for Stud animals that are clear and legible and a photo.
Notes pertaining to Sale Lots i.e. Scrotal size, Breedplan figures, MVP tests, any
other performance records, mating &/or pregnancy details, should be typed or
clearly printed in block letters on the back of the registration certificate photocopies
and be no more than 40 words. (Do not send your original or duplicate certificates)
A photo of each lot will be included in the catalogue free of charge, which will be
included in both breed websites.
Individual breeders may submit videos of their Sale animals for display on their
relevant breed websites or for links to their own websites.
Breeders are also encouraged to use social media to promote their sale animals.
ENTRY FEE: $110 per head of Stud Cattle (A cow and calf constitutes 1 head for
these purposes)
Commercial cattle – pen of up to 5 - $110. $66 per semen or embryo package.
Photos will be given space near the animal’s pedigree – (All prices include GST).
Purchasers are liable for transport arrangements unless otherwise stated in the
Catalogue.
A light lunch will be provided from about 11.30 till 1 pm.
