This was a full time supervised training scheme in Pediatrics in busy, well staffed
and equipped, 1200 bedded University Teaching Hospital with regular supervision. I
was an integral part of the multidisciplinary Pediatrics Team in clinical and
administrative matters including clinical audit. We were having regular teaching
session, seminars, Journal clubs, case presentations and multidisciplinary team
meetings with colleagues from other disciplines in the department. I learned
managing Pediatric and neonatal emergencies like shock, diabetic ketoacidosis.
status epilepticus ,status asthamaticus and many others. I am well versed with
procedures like exchange transfusion, placing an IV cannula ,lumbar puncture ,bone
marrow aspiration, pleural
tap ,ascitic tap ,ventricular tap, intrathecal
chemotherapy, gastric lavage ,suprapubic aspiration,arterial blood sampling and
various other procedures.
One-Year Rotatory Internship,
Acharya Shri Chander college of Medical Sciences and Hospital Jammu,
India.
During my 1-year tenure as Intern, I underwent rotation through different
Departments of University Hospital such as Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics
& Gynecology, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Community Medicine, etc. I worked as a
House Officer in Community Health Center, Bishnah, Jammu, India, for twenty-six
weeks.
My duties and responsibilities were taking ward round with my team, history taking
and clerking of the patients, writing ward notes of the patients, doing routine work
of the ward with SHO, making discharge referrals, attending audit & X-Ray meetings
and other educational activities in the department. I developed skills in
communication & also gained experience in clinical and procedural skills.

Intravenous Midazolam And Intravenous Diazepam in Convulsing neonates
and children in Department of Pediatrics, University Hospital of Jammu, India.
It was a prospective study and presented as my thesis for the Degree of
Doctrate of Medicine.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
I have a keen interest in teaching and have been actively involved in teaching
throughout my career. I have been regularly teaching and training undergraduates
as well as tyrannies under NRHM &IGNOU.
I was involved in teaching medical students ,interns & house officers the basic
management of pediatric emergencies & neonatal care.
IT SKILLS:
I am a computer / Internet enthusiast, proficient in browsing information related to
medical fields and am skilled in using Evidence Based Medicine Tools such as
Medline, Cochran, Pub med. I am well versed with MS DOS, Windows XP, Window
Vista, MS Office, Photoshop and many other computer applications.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
I have been a good debater,speaker and a badminton player in my school and
college years. I have won many national level prizes for the same.
I like reading books .
