Who’s who? Famous Figures of the American Revolution Biographical
Poster
You will research a famous figure from the American Revolution. After
successfully researching your figure you shall create a visual poster or
PowerPoint that contains a picture of your figure, and biographical information in
the form of the following.
1. Name of your Famous Figure
2. Life and death of this person in dates
3. What was their position during the American Revolution? (This would be their
occupation, family position, or role in society during that time.)
4. How did this famous figure impact the Revolution? What are the traits of this
person that lead to this impact?
5. Are they known for other aspects of their lives besides the American
Revolution? (Provide anything that might relate to their personality, hobbies,
family life, that might show us what kind of human being they were. How might
these traits have affected their impact on the Revolution?)
6. Historians often ask hypothetical “what if?” questions. Provide a “what if?”
question centered on a crucial event in their lifetime. Example (What if George
Washington’s assault on Trenton failed when he crossed the Delaware?) Be
creative with this question, there could be many possibilities.
7. Your poster or PowerPoint should include a picture of your personality.
8. Provide other visual pictures that are appropriate for your biography and
graphic organization. Your presentation should be pleasing to the eye. If you
use textual information from a word processor on your poster, make sure your
font is large enough to visually see it from 5 feet away.
