What makes a good friend? How do you know someone will be a good friend? How/where can you find good friends? How do friends influence you? Some things the Bible says about friends (discuss each one): Proverbs 12:26 A righteous man is cautious in friendship. Proverbs 13:20 He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. (Talk about the concept of "Birds of a feather flock together.") Proverbs 18:24 A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 22:24-25 Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared. Craft – Bird Window Clings Place piece of plastic over picture of bird. Draw outline of the bird on the plastic and color, using permanent markers. Cut out the picture. The bird will cling to a window. Wrap-up As you play with your child with these window clings, remember that "birds of a feather stick together." Be careful who you choose for your friends. © Youth for Christ | Fresno/Madera Bible Pattern pictures of birds, thin pieces of clear plastic (purchased in fabric department or store, on roll), permanent markers, scissors Choosing Friends © Youth for Christ | Fresno/Madera 2 Choosing Friends © Youth for Christ | Fresno/Madera 3
