Morning Skills—May 26-30—7:40-8:10, Breakfast and Bathroom is 8:108:40, continue Morning Skills from 8:40-9:00 Monday Morning Skills—Comprehensive Assessment of Reading Strategies II—Book 1 Lesson 1, finish “Shopping Spree” personal narrative Lesson 1—Students will read the story, “Turtle and Rabbit” and answer questions pertaining to the story about finding the main (central) idea, recalling facts and details, understanding sequence, recognizing cause and effect, making predictions, finding word meaning in context, drawing conclusions and making inferences, and reading pictures. “Shopping Spree” personal narrative story finish After breakfast, students will reread “Turtle and Rabbit” and discuss the questions and answers. Teacher will take up the “Shopping Spree” writings after students share with a partner and some with the group. Tuesday Morning Skills—Harcourt story, “A Bed Full of Cats” formative assessment Students will answer multiple choice and a response question pertaining to Harcourt story, “A Bed Full of Cats.” After breakfast, teacher will take up the quizzes and students will use textbook story, “A Bed Full of Cats” to discuss what answers that they should have marked on the quiz. Wednesday Morning Skills—Comprehensive Assessment of Reading Strategies II—Book 1 Lesson 2, Math worksheet 19 Lesson 2—Students will read a story about a special trip and answer questions pertaining to the story about finding the main (central) idea, recalling facts and details, understanding sequence, recognizing cause and effect, making predictions, finding word meaning in context, drawing conclusions and making inferences, and reading pictures. Math worksheet 19—Adding Tens and Ones and Regrouping Students will find the sum of two-digit and one-digit addends. After breakfast, students will reread the story and discuss the questions and answers. Students will also work through and discuss a few problems on the math sheet and finish. Teacher will take up the math worksheet. Harcourt worksheet 18—Grammar: Using I and me---Students will determine whether they need to use the word I or me in sentence blanks to complete a story.
