Design prize for rational einbauküchen GmbH
The German Design Council has singled out the rational kitchen tiozen edition to receive its international premium prize, the German
Design Award 2016.
The German Design Award ranks as one of the world’s most
prestigious design competitions and is held in high regard well beyond
professional circles. It is the goal of the German Design Council to
discover, present and award unique design trends. Thus, every year
high calibre submissions from product and communications design, all
of which are considered in their own unique way to be at the cutting
edge of the international design scene, are chosen as prize-winners.
The tio-zen edition is synonymous with living in harmony: the tranquility
exuded by a Japanese garden – combined with traditional wood
craftsmanship and technical finesse. In true keeping with the Zen
tradition, this kitchen concept invites the natural balance of forces to
play the central role.
Distinguished with a “Special Mention”, the natural and distinct design
is a wholly in-house development of the rational team. This distinction
singles out works whose design displays particularly noteworthy partial
