HOW DOES IT WORK?
ProFrax Laser Treatment (PFLT) produces tiny microscopic sites of thermal impact separated by areas of unaffected,
healthy tissue. Each treated spot, called a Micro Thermal Dots (MTD), stimulates the body's own natural production of new
collagen in the dermis and eliminates old epidermal pigmented cells on the skin's surface.
The spared healthy tissue contains viable cells that promote rapid healing of the outer skin layers. Since only 20% of the
skin is treated by the laser on each visit, there is speedy healing and minimal downtime.

How does Fractional CO2 laser compare to traditional CO2 Laser?
The Micro Fractional CO2 laser has significantly less down time than the traditional CO2 laser. The traditional CO2 laser removes the
top layer (or resurfaces) 100% of the skin to being treated, which results in a longer healing time and can cause long-term redness
(up to 3 months). The Micro Fractional laser means that only a fraction of the skin is treated. Since bridges of healthy skin are left
in between the treated areas, the downtime is significantly less. Micro Fractional does not mean fractional results. The science
behind this technology allows for significant improvements comparable to traditional CO2 laser.

Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing treatments are safe and effective without needing surgery or
injections. You can expect your skin to be flushed and red after treatments but this is short
lived. As long as you carefully follow your post treatment instructions, you will have a smooth
recovery.
How long with the treatment take and will it hurt?
The Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing takes about 30-40 minutes, there is a topical anesthetic
applied to the skin for approximately 45 minutes prior to the treatment, which results in an
almost pain less with a possibility of mild stinging treatment.
How many Fractional CO2 laser treatments do I need?
The number of treatments necessary will depend on the skin condition being treated. Most
desired results maybe obtained with a single treatment but may need three to five additional
treatments two weeks apart.
What should I expect after the treatment?
Immediately following the treatment the skin may be mildly red and swollen. These effects are
normal and indicate a successful treatment. Most redness and swelling disappear in 2-3 days.
You are able to apply makeup and resume normal schedule and activities within 4 days.
