Under the guidance of the Team leader - Quality and rights-respecting schools, the incumbent is accountable for formulation, design, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of adolescent development and HIV/AIDS project to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the project management, delivery and accomplishment of project goals and objectives; accountable for ensuring that all aspects of the project promoted equity, gender equality, with an emphasis on gender disaggregation, gender disparity identification and gender mainstreaming to guide policies, programmes monitoring and evaluations. 3. Design, develop, prepare, implement, monitor and evaluate the Adolescent development and HIV programme. Participate in the development and introduction of innovative strategies for the programme. Create programmatic linkages with other UNICEF and other UN sectors to ensure the issues of adolescent development, participation, health, civil engagement, and HIV prevention are addressed in a holistic manner. 2. Provide technical support for social research, M & E of adolescent development, participation, health, civil engagement, HIV prevention Programme Analyze and evaluate data to ensure achievement of objectives and take corrective action when necessary to meet programme objectives. 3. Lead in the development of appropriate advocacy & programme communication strategy to support and advocate programme development in the area of adolescent development and HIV/Aids prevention focusing on most-at-risk adolescents. In consultation with programme sections, prepare inputs for advocacy, social mobilization and BCC materials for and with adolescents. 4. Provide technical support to government counterparts, NGOs and other partners in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programme and projects. Identify training needs and objectives for the purpose of capacity building, programme sustainability and assist to plan and organise training programmes. 5. Undertake field visits to monitor programmes with government counterparts and other concerned partners, assess local capacity gaps, resources, and monitor UNICEF inputs. Work closely with all partners in ensuring effective participation of adolescents in community capacity development. Communicate with local authorities on project feasibility and effectiveness, including the flow of supply and non-supply assistance.
