WHAT IS IT?
The APSS Mentoring Program aims to connect stroke experts and clinicians from across
Alberta. Mentors are available in the areas of stroke prevention, acute care, rehabilitation and
community re-integration.
WHO SHOULD SIGN UP?
 Clinicians from Alberta who want to access stroke expertise
 Anyone who has expertise in stroke care who is interested in becoming a mentor
WHY SHOULD I JOIN?
Join to ask clinical questions, have discussions, and network with stroke experts. Have easy
access to clinical expertise through telephone, email, face to face visits or Telehealth. Find
clinically relevant best practice information and how it is being applied in Alberta.
HOW DO I JOIN?
1. If you do not already have a BLMS password, contact Diane MacPherson at
dmacpherson@hsf.ab.ca to obtain one. Please indicate in your email that you require a
password/username for the Mentoring Database. If you already have a password for
the BLMS system APSS learning modules, do NOT contact Diane – you will
automatically receive access to the Mentoring Database on January 21, 2010.
2. Go to the Alberta Provincial Stroke Strategy website www.strokestrategy.ab.ca
3. Click on Health Care Provider Education, then choose Mentoring Database
4. Choose the Log-in option and enter your password
5. Click on APSS – Mentoring Database
WHEN DOES IT START?
The Mentoring Database will become available on-line on January 21, 2010.
